The 7 Questions ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Must Answer In Its Final Season

Tonight, “Sons of Anarchy” embarks on its last ride, kicking off the first episode of its seventh and final season. There’s a lot of business to handle before the members of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club – Redwood Original check out for good, and almost all of it looks to end in a blood-soaked barrage of merciless mayhem.

With hours to go before the premiere, here are the seven questions we need to see answered on the final season of “Sons of Anarchy.”

1. Can Jax Find Redemption?

The SAMCRO president is at the knife’s edge of disaster. His club is in peril. His wife is dead, and his mother is her murderer, although he doesn’t know it yet. The stage is set for a perfect storm of chaos. Can Jax steer away from the whirlwind, or will he destroy himself by riding head on into the vortex?

2. Who Will Feel Jax’s Wrath?

Aside from the obvious answer of “everyone.” There’s no doubt that Jax will be out for blood, seeking to avenge Tara’s death. But who will he target? Will he track down the wrong killer, and make things worse for his club, mirroring Tig’s decision to kill Damon Pope’s daughter and how it blew back on SAMCRO? Or will Jax find out that his mother was the woman behind the carving fork — and if so, how does he respond?

3. Can Gemma Survive?

Survival is sort of her super-power. No matter the conflict, no matter the odds, Gemma Morrow Teller always emerges on the other side, covered in blood and lies. Killing Tara, however, is a bridge too far, even for Gemma. If Jax finds out, will her only surviving son take Gemma’s life in his own hands? Can Gemma talk her way out of this one? Or is the clock finally about to run out on the black widow of “Anarchy”?

4. Can Juice Survive?

Like Gemma, Juice Ortiz has survived time and time again, against all odds. He was forced to rat on his club, and he made it out alive. He tried to commit suicide, but Chibs wouldn’t let him. Somehow, things are bleaker than every for poor Juicy. Jax knows that Juice has betrayed him. Jax doesn’t know that Juice played a role in Tara’s death (by killing Eli Roosevelt and helping Gemma cover up the mess), but if he finds out, it won’t be pretty. Indeed, all signs point to Juice’s demise by the end of “Sons.” Is there any chance he can avoid that grim fate?

5. Can Unser Survive?

The answer better be yes, or I will riot. Charming’s former police chief has been living with cancer ever since we first met him. There’s a real argument to be made that at the end of this thing, the dying man could be the only one left standing; there’s an almost irresistible irony in Wayne outliving everyone else. Don’t expect a complete bloodbath — some of Charming’s residents have to survive the madness that’s yet to ensue — but don’t be surprised if Unser is one of the few folks still standing when the dust settles.

6. Will We See Ghosts From The Past?

It’s almost unfathomable that “Sons” could end without another appearance from Tara or Clay, even though they’re no longer among the living. While the show doesn’t typically deal in flashbacks or vision sequences, is it possible that we’ll see Maggie Siff and Ron Perlman show up one more time, for old time’s sake? If there isn’t at least one more glimpse at Ryan Hurst’s Opie, then there truly is no justice in the world.

7. What’s Up With The Homeless Lady?

Seriously! What’s her deal? Is she a ghost? Is she an angel? Is she Starbuck from “Battlestar Galactica”? The theories surrounding Charming’s homeless woman are endless, and hopefully, we’ll have some resolution when the show ends in December.

“Sons of Anarchy” revs up its final season tonight on FX at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
