We’re still pouting over having to wait an extra seven months for a new film from Larry and Lana Wachowski, but the casting news regarding their upcoming 10-episode sci-fi Netflix series “Sense8″ is a pretty strong balm for our “Jupiter Ascending”-heavy hearts.
Deadline has the exclusive on the cast list (14 members strong!) and first detailed description of the siblings’ “global tale,” set to stream its awesome into your eyeballs late 2014 or early 2015.
The plot breakdown, care of co-showrunner J. Michael Straczynski, sounds pretty freakin’ righteous (and a bit reminiscent of the Wachowskis’ film “Cloud Atlas” – which we still consider criminally underrated). “The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally,” Straczynski told Deadline.
“They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”
The cast will include “Lost” alum Naveen Andrews (Sayid survival skills, represent!) and Daryl Hannah (girl best bring her Elle Driver A-game), along with Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen, Freema Agyeman, Tena Desae, Doona Bae, Max Riemelt, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Silvestre and Terrence Mann.

But will Daryl wear an eyepatch?
And the aforementioned eight at the center of it all? Deadline says that’ll be Smith, Middleton, Ameen, Bae, Silvestri, Desae, Riemelt and Clayton. Check out photos of the full (really, really ridiculously good-looking) cast, below.
As if we weren’t already psyched enough for what promises to be a massive new project for Netflix and the Wachowskis, Deadline also reports that the show will shoot in nine locations and four continents – making it a truly global endeavor, and also what looks to be a contender for Netflix’s biggest-budget production yet.
