It felt a little too good to be true, and maybe it was: It looks like the collaborative EP between Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper won’t be dropping any time soon.
“We’re both really busy,” Gambino said when asked about the project by Complex. “Chance is kind of doing his own thing with the college tour and everything. Right now, it just doesn’t feel like the time. Plus, we’re in two different spaces.”
That doesn’t mean we won’t be getting new music from Donald Glover soon, though. The Georgia native has a new mixtape with DJ Drama, STN MNTN/ KAUAI, plus an EP on the way.
“It’s a Gangsta Grillz mixtape that goes into an EP,” he explained. “The Gangsta Grillz mixtape is sort of like — it’s a dream. And the dream ends when I wake up in Kauai. And they go into each other — it’s one complete project. You can download the mixtape, and you can go buy the EP. The money from the EP goes to help with keeping Kauai clean, and also helps with getting audio and visual device for cops policy.”
Earlier this month, he released the singing-heavy “Sober (rough),” which appears to be off of the tape.
