As if Katy Perry taking the stage wasn’t enough of a party, it has been confirmed that nominees the Killers will also perform at the 2013 MTV EMA, which are set to take place on November 10 from Amsterdam.
In addition to that, one of the music industry’s biggest party rockers, LMFAO’s RedFoo, has been confirmed as the show’s official emcee. “So excited to add some ridiculousness to this crazy party, whooooooooooo!” he said in a statement.
He’ll join Ariana Grande, who has been tapped as the night’s backstage host, following her performance at the VMA pre-show back in August. She’ll be on hand to give fans an inside look at what’s going down at the party.
“I’m so excited to go to the MTV EMAs and be the eyes and ears backstage for all the fans around the world!” she said. “Make sure to follow @MTVEMA on November 10th so you can see all my updates from the big night. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
“Anchorman 2” star Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) will also be making appearances at the event. More performers and presenters will be announced later on. The 2013 MTV EMA will air on Sunday, November 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead all nominees with five nods each, followed by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke, who are up for four awards. Taylor Swift, One Direction, Eminem and Jay Z are also in the running for multiple awards. Fans in the United States (and the rest of the world) can vote now in EMA categories like Best Song, Best Pop and Biggest Fans by visiting EMA.MTV.com or, on mobile phones, M.MTVEMA.com. Voting is open now, with polls closing at 11:59 CET on November 8.
