‘The Voice’ Recap: Find Out Who Made The Top Six

faced a tough blow Tuesday night (November 26) as eight became six.

The night started on a light note as Ellie Goulding brought her dance stylings to open the elimination show. The EDM starlet sang “Burn,” joined by male finalists James Wolpert, Will Champlain and Matthew Schuler, who proved they really had the star power to go all the way.

The one to get the vote of confidence, though, was Team Adam’s Champlin, who was the first name announced to move on. Champlin wowed audiences last night with a rendition of Etta James’ classic “At Last.”

But unity still reigned during the results show as the top eight harmoniously performed “Will the Circle Go Unbroken,” backed by the Starbucks Chorus.

The moment was cut short only to reveal Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury as the second save. The soul singer won the country vote last night with a lovely candlelit performance of “I Still Believe in You” that won equal praise from the coaches.

Next to take the stage was coach Cee Lo Green, who was joined by fellow Goodie Mob member Big Gipp for a rousing performance of “Amy.” The artsy act, equipped with an aerial dancer, showed off Green’s usual theatrics and brought the energy up another notch.

As always, “The Voice” confessional brought some laughs and introduced some new conspiracy theories about the coaches and artists. Not only is Tessanne Chin a fake Jamaican, it seems Cee Lo is really an alien! It was lighthearted fun that turned tense when the remaining six contestants were lined up to reveal the next save: Christina Aguilera’s mini-me Jacquie Lee.

The top eight came together for an ode to OneRepublic including “Apologize” and “All The Right Moves.” Moments before, it was announced that the final three would receive an opportunity to write and perform an original song with guest mentor and Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder.

It was yet another short-lived moment as the show proceeded with the task at hand. With only five contestants remaining, all of Team Adam was announced safe, meaning both Tessanne Chin and James Wolpert would comprise the top six.

That left a brutal bottom three: Team Blake’s soulful Ray Boudreaux, Team Christina’s crooner Matthew Schuler and Team Cee Lo’s sweet Caroline Pennell, who found herself in the same position last week.

Both coaches Levine and Aguilera were shocked by Schuler’s inclusion in the bottom, touting his consistency through the competition and it seemed America agreed, using their Twitter power to declare Schuler this week’s save.

Unfortunately, that meant the end of the road for Ray Boudreaux and Caroline Pennell, leaving Team Cee Lo shut out of the finals altogether with no remaining singers.

Top 6:

Team Adam:
Will Champlin
Tessanne Chin
James Wolpert

Team Christina:
Jacquie Lee
Matthew Schuler

Team Blake:
Cole Vosbury

While they have much to be grateful for, the top six will have little time to enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend as the hopefuls will be put to the test yet again next week in a crucial round of performances that will determine the final slots.
