‘The Voice’ Recap: Who Made The Top 10?

The first live results show of “The Voice” couldn’t have been more exciting, filled with emphatic performances and the reveal of season three’s top 10 contestants.

Coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira pleaded cases for theirtop 12, with Shelton touting his all-country “dream team” as a game-changer.

Robin Thicke lit up the stage with pals Pharrell and T.I. to perform their latest collaboration, “Blurred Lines.” The funky R&B jam had the crowd and coaches’ heads bobbing as the three stars showed off their svelte style with the ladies. Lady Antebellum also took to the stage with their new hit “Goodbye Town,” while Shelton and Levine performed with their groups.

While most competition shows reveal their most blatant choices, a.k.a. the frontrunners, first, “The Voice” revealed Shakira’s Kris Thomas and Shelton’s underdogs the Swon Brothers as the first two saves, leaving viewers biting their nails.

Eventually, they were joined by Team Adam’s Sarah Simmons and Usher’s heartthrob Josiah Hawley. Michael Jackson’s former background singer and coach favorite Judith Hill soon joined the saved pack, as did the youngest singer in the competition, Danielle Bradbery. Everyone let out a sigh of relief when fan favorite Michelle Chamuel and clear stand-out Sasha Allen were also safe. Holly Tucker and Amber Carrington’s saves meant all of Team Adam and Team Blake’s “dream team” made it through.

Left in the dust: were Team Usher’s Vedo, who lost his mother while in the competition, and Team Shakira’s Garrett Gardner, who didn’t even make it to a team in his season two audition.

The top 10 will return next week as the live rounds continue.
