The 2004, 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards came during a very strange time in the pop culture world. “Lost” was still three days away from changing the television landscape forever, “Arrested Development” came out of nowhere to upset all of the awards show comedy favorites — AKA their “Modern Familys” — and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still a thing. (I know. I know.)
So to honor the weird and wonderful world of yesteryear, let’s take a step back and stroll down memory lane — here are, without a doubt, the most nostalgia-inducing pics from the 2004 Emmy Awards.
Brad Pitt And Jennifer Aniston Were Married

She also won Outstanding Guest Actress for “The Practice.” Remember “The Practice”?

And he was there with Eva Longoria, who was weeks away from her “Desperate Housewives” debut.
… And So Was Kevin Sorbo

Not to be mean, but…
James Gandolfini Was Their Bryan Cranston

He lost Outstanding Actor to James Spader, but won on three other occasions — tying Cranston, unless Cranston beats McConaughey on Monday…
… And “The Sopranos” Cleaned Up

Outstanding Supporting Actress for Drea de Matteo, Supporting Actor for Michael Imperioli, and Outstanding Drama for the show. Not. Bad.
Kiefer Sutherland Was There For “24″

Oh wait… he still is.
“Sex And The City” Won EVERYTHING

Well, Sarah Jessica Parker for Outstanding Lead and Cynthia Nixon for supporting, anyway. (Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis were nominated.)
… Except Outstanding Comedy, Which Went To “Arrested Development”

Nope, it’s not an illusion. “Arrested” won, and then got canceled like ten minutes (eh, two seasons) later.
And One More Time, For Good Measure
