Tracy Morgan Heads Home From Rehab And Confirms Wal-Mart Lawsuit

After a bevy of bad news in the days since the accident that critically injured Tracy Morgan, the news that he has been released from rehab is an undeniably exciting and happy one. Tracy Morgan is out of rehab, folks, and the road to recovery inches ever closer to its finish.

According to his spokesman Lewis Kay, Morgan — who suffered a broken leg, nose, and ribs from the 6-car pile-up accident — was released Saturday morning in the wake of the recent announcement that he would sue Wal-Mart for the accident that left four people injured and killed his friend James McNair.

Morgan’s release comes a month after the accident that left him in critical condition in the weeks following and his release is a positive sign for the actor/comedian’s recovery efforts.

The statement from Morgan’s Kay, released Saturday afternoon, confirms his condition and the lawsuit.

“Tracy has been released from the rehabilitation center and will continue his recovery efforts at home with an aggressive outpatient program,” it read. “He asked me to pass along his sincerest gratitude to everyone who has helped him get to this point. He would also appreciate some privacy during this crucial point in his recovery. In regards to the reports of a lawsuit, I can confirm that Tracy, along with the other victims of this horrific accident, have filed suit.”

Wal-Mart driver Kevin Roper, who fell asleep at the wheel after being awake and working for over 24 hours, has pled not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto.
