Watch Dwyane Wade Surprise A High School Basketball Team With A NBA-Style Locker Room

NEW ORLEANS — NBA All-Star Weekend was full of slam-dunk performances and star-studded parties, but for Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, it was also about giving back.

The three-time NBA champion teamed up with Gatorade to give one New Orleans high school basketball team a locker room makeover.

When the Riverdale High School men’s varsity team stepped off the court after a big win, they found their locker room transformed into an NBA-inspired clubhouse. In addition to stylish wood-finished lockers, the room also received a fresh coat of paint and name plaques for each player — and Wade was there to unveil it all.

“When we walked in, it got me. I teared up a little bit,” senior Donte Watson said. “These are the best lockers I’ve ever seen.”

Wade stayed to talk to the team about the importance of nutrition and staying in shape for athletes of all levels.

“For Gatorade to be able to come in here in a short period of time, and be able to give them this experience is unbelievable and I’m glad that I’m able to be here and unveil this for these guys,” Wade told MTV News.

According to senior Donte Jackson, this certainly will be a moment his teammates remember forever. “This overall experience was one of the best days of my life.”
