Rounding out our series of designer profiles from the VFiles Made Fashion show is Tigran Avetisyan. The Moscow-based graduate of Central Saint Martins exhibited a primary-colored unisex collection of swishy garments inspired by his travels. More specifically, Tigran was inspired by five fragrance bottles he encountered frequently in airport Duty Free stores across the globe.

The collection is a frenetic mishmash of ripped print pieces heat-transferred onto oversized polyester t-shirts, shorts, tunics and trenches. No one piece is alike, no crease or slight detail is replicable, everything is one-of-one. The clothes are so light Tigran told us he felt like he was naked—which, in the spring and summer is SUCH a boon. Also, he taught me what a “butt seam” is, so there’s that.
