With only two days until Thanksgiving, Austin Mahone already knows what he’s going to eat when he hopes off his float after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this Thursday.
When he spoke to MTV News earlier this month, the singer revealed some of his favorite Thanksgiving Day treats. “My mom makes a mean green bean casserole. It’s amazing,” he dished. “I love the ham and the turkey and the mashed potatoes. That’s about it.”
Mahone will be one of the many stars slated to appear during the 87th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which begins Thanksgiving Day at 9 a.m. ET in New York City. Other A-listers appearing on the show include Ariana Grande, Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony, Gavin DeGraw, Cher Lloyd, Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood (along with the cast from the live production of ) as well as Jimmy Fallon and the Roots.
Once Thanksgiving wraps up, Mahone will have a busy December ahead of him. After falling ill last month, he’s back in performance mode and is slated to appear at several Jingle Ball concerts around the country, including ones in New York City and Los Angeles.
And then he’s also looking to some well-deserved downtime to hang out with his friends and work on his debut album.
“Definitely going to be doing a lot of recording, make my album perfect and every detail just how I want it. For the holidays I’m going back to Texas, San Antonio, where I’m from,” he said. “For Christmas, going to hang out with my family, see some people I haven’t seen in a while, hang out with my friends back home. I’m pretty excited for Christmas. It’s probably one of my favorite times of the year.”
So, is he already getting his list together for Santa? He added, “Honestly I couldn’t ask for anything right now. Just seeing my family. I feel like I have so much stuff. I would say just Whataburger from Texas, ’cause I love the burgers.”
