That immutable fact is why fans of the late singer eagerly await the Lifetime biopic about her life “I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story.”
We’ve already gotten a look at what Yaya DeCosta and Arien Escarpeta as Houston and Bobby Brown, but what will Whitney sound like?
According to E! News, it will be R&B songstress Deborah Cox who will will be the voice that brings Houston’s iconic discography to life for the Angela Bassett-directed film.
According to reports, the music rights and clearances are still being worked out, but Cox will provide the vocal tracks for the former America’s Next Top Model contestant’s onscreen performance.
The movie, which is currently shooting in Los Angeles, will highlight Houston and Brown’s tabloid relationship.
“I really just want to tell a story about a boy and a girl who fell in love,” said Bassett, who co-starred with Houston in “Waiting To Exhale.” And I want to be as honest as I can about doing that.”
“I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story” is set to premiere on Lifetime next year.
