Timbaland and his recent signee Tink have a lot of new music to share and we’re excited to hear this could include verses from Jay Z and Andre 3000.
Timbo has been previewing some of Tink’s upcoming songs over the last month, but on Thursday (October 23), the producer finally revealed that two of the Tink songs he’s teased are actually collaborations with Jay Z and Andre 3000, two MCs who are notoriously picky about tracks they jump on.
Timbaland celebrated Tink’s efforts Thursday as he launched his Epic Records imprint, Mosley Music Group, according to The Fader. “Remember she’s a kid,” he said of Tink. “She’s not supposed to be this special.”
To hear the Andre 3000 collab preview, check the clip below. Though we’ve yet to hear 3 Stacks on the track, we can’t wait.
The Jay Z collaboration, which also sounds like it’s going to be a banger, is said to be previewed in the Instagram video below where Tim nods his head, sings along and feels the vibe as Tink lets loose.
Tink also reportedly has a track that opens with inspiration from Aaliyah’s “One In A Million.” Aaliyah, of course, worked extensively with Timbo before her tragic passing in 2001. Tim’s work with Aaliyah is at least part of the reason Tink admires the producer so much.
“He’s a legend,” she told Billboard in June. “He worked with people I grew up listening and watching [like] Aaliyah and Missy Elliott. I’ve seen him work with Justin [Timberlake]. For him to see something in little me, motivated me so much.”
And after getting this news, we’re motivated to hear more from Tink.
