Shady Records’ “Total Slaughter” battle rap event took over Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, on Saturday night and judging from the reaction, it’s safe to say that there’s enough demand to warrant a second show.
And, maybe Eminem will actually be present for the next one, since Hollow Da Don was bold enough to take shots at his manager Paul Rosenberg on stage — and apparently piss off Shady.
Hollow da Don faced off with Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden for the main event of the night, going three rounds and coming out on top when Joey gave a lackluster showing in his final round. The New Jersey rapper actually threw down his mic in surrender because the crowd wouldn’t stop booing during round three, making the judges’ decision a pretty easy one.
During Hollow’s freestyles, he took shots at Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg and former Interscope president, Jimmy Iovine for messing with his money. Bold words, since Eminem’s team put the event together, but maybe that will command an appearance from Shady next time around.
Earlier in the night Murda Mook defeated Loaded Lux, Arsonal beat Big T and T-Rex got the best of Daylyt, who decided to literally strip off his clothes during their final round on stage.
Back in January, the members of Slaughterhouse appeared on “RapFix Live” to announce the launch of “The Road to Total Slaughter” reality show, which led up to the live battle. Royce, Joey, Crooked I and Joell explained why this was such an important move for the culture. Watch in the video below.
