Will the Robin character in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” be played by a woman? The superhero rumor mill says yes.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jena Malone has joined the cast of the much-anticipated Warner Bros. film and will be suiting up as the character dubbed Carrie Kelly.
The blockbuster movie is currently filming the Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) fight scene near Michigan State University and WILX-10 News reporter Kirk Montgomery is getting students to spill the beans on the details of the top secret script.
“I’ve also learned that the character of Robin is now female,” Montgomery said, quoting an unnamed source from the cast of extras.
The “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” actress was seen on the set sporting red hair, further substantiating the claim made by the extra, who could face a $5 million fine for breaking WB’s non-disclosure agreement.
Two weeks ago Jena also took to Instagram to post a pic of her now red locks:
“Drastic times call for drastic measures,” she captioned the photo.
“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which stars Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
