Hilary Duff is coming clean about her upcoming album, her first LP since Dignity 7 years ago. And it turns out, Ed Sheeran will be involved.
“I’m working with a lot of people. I’m still writing, so that process is still going on,” she told MTV News on the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet. Hilary’s working with songwriters and producers like Lindy Robbins and Toby Gad, among others.
Wearing an orange pout and voluptuous top knot, the singer/actress and mom of 2-year-old Luca was hyped to be talking about her new project, supposedly out in the fall. In fact, she was so hyped that while she was rattling off details, she casually slipped a HUGE detail.
“I’m cutting an Ed Sheeran song next week, which I’m really excited about,” she said while listing everything about her new music, including that a single should be out “soon.”
Wait, rewind. Ed Sheeran?? Yes!
Describing the album as an “earthy, indie-pop vibe,” Duff explained what it means to be returning to the studio after taking a hiatus from releasing music.
“It feels good to be in the studio. It feels good to be talking about my last few years — the high points and the low points,” she said. “I really just want to be honest and be an open book for my fans to know where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, how I feel and all that good stuff. So, I should have a single soon, and an album by the fall.”
It’s a lot to take in, but there’s so much to look forward to. Hilary fans, rejoice!
