Now that One Direction‘s Zayn Malik is officially off the market, could it be that fellow pop superstar Justin Bieber also has marriage on the brain? In a new interview, Selena Gomez’s on-again, off-again flame is dishing about his plans to get married and start a family.
“I can’t wait to have a beautiful wife and little kids running around. Those things are in God’s hands, not mine,” the 19-year-pop star tells In Touch. “I’m not going to lie. It’s fun to be young, fall in love and be in love. My mom taught me how to treat a woman right, so I enjoy taking a girl out and doing nice things for her. Everyone deserves to feel like they are the most special person in the world.”
This is not the first time the singer expressed his desire to be a family man within the next 10 years. Bieber opened up to MTV News about it in March 2012, just as he was turning 18. “I see myself in 10 years having a family — 28, that’s a good time to really have a family ’cause I want to be a young dad,” he said. “Maybe, long time away though. Don’t get any ideas, people. It’s not happening anytime soon.
Despite his openness to discuss his philosophies on love, Bieber, who is prepping a new album and the release of his single shared with In Touch he wishes that people would spend less time gossiping about him. “Sometimes I think people get distracted … and forget that I’m here to create music,” he said. “I put everything I have into my music, and I wish people would focus more on that.”
There’s a lot of career stuff to focus on, including the fact that Bieber is nominated alongside will.i.am for a Best Choreography Moonman at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday, going live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
One Direction also will be appearing at the show. They are up for Best Song of the Summer for their peppy single “Best Song Ever.” There will be performances by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kanye West and more when the show kicks off at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
