Zendaya’s ‘Crying’ Fans ‘So Sad’ About ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Loss

It was one of the most competitive seasons of “Dancing with the Stars” to date, but after three months of hard work and a lead going into the finale, 16-year-old Disney star Zendaya Coleman had to watch the coveted Mirror Ball trophy go to another deserving contestant, Kellie Pickler.

Coming in second place isn’t getting the “Shake it Up” star down. She is more concerned with how her young fans — and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, who had to get 14 stitches after she elbowed him in the head during rehearsal — was handling the news.

“I was happy that I made it that far and I think that’s the most important thing to take with me,” Zendaya told MTV News. “I was more worried about my partner. Obviously, he had stitches. He’s all banged up and all the fans at home that are crying their eyeballs out. All my little fans are so sad. Parents are tweeting me, talking about ‘My daughter’s is crying she doesn’t want to go to school because she’s upset you didn’t win.’ “

Zendaya, who was the youngest contestant to ever compete on the show, said she will miss Val now that the season has ended, and she’ll never forget the special bond she created with her fellow competitors.

“When it comes to other contestants, everyone does get really close. You really feel for each other because you know what you’re going through,” Zendaya said. “It’s not like a competition where people hate each other; we are all in it together.”

Even though everyone got along while on the show, it doesn’t mean they didn’t have a little bit of fun behind-the-scenes, especially when NFL player Jacoby Jones was involved. He was not only was known as the “Dancing with the Stars” prankster, but from time to time, he partook in a little friendly trash talking.

“He can get away with it because he’s so funny,” Zendaya said of Jones, before admitting that she never fell victim to his banter. “Not me particular, I’m a little girl, no one wants to beat up on me, that’s messed up.”
