24-Year-Old Man Dies At Electric Daisy Carnival

A California man died early Saturday morning after attending Electric Daisy Carnival.

24-year-old Montgomery Tsang of San Leandro, California, collapsed in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway parking lot and was taken to University Medical Center where he died shortly after, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

“We are deeply saddened by this news, and hope that everyone will join us in keeping his family and friends in their thoughts during this very difficult time,” Insomniac spokeswoman Jennifer Forkish saud in a statement. “Dance music fans pride themselves in being part of a loving community and, as we get ready to start the second night of the show, we ask everyone to help us keep this event safe.”

In 2012 there were two deaths at the festival, and it was moved out of Los Angeles in 2010 when a 15-year-old girl died. Local authorities reportedly responded to 249 minor medical calls during the festival this year, along with five hospitalizations.

When two died at New York’s EDM music festival Electric Zoo last year, the organizers canceled the event and majorly revised their policies, but there are currently no plans to cancel EDC.
