Rick Ross Has A New Face Tattoo That You Have To See To Believe

by 05/26/14

No matter what happens for the rest of his career, Rick Ross is gonna be “Rich Forever.”

The rapper got the bold phrase — which serves as his Instagram name, the name of the John Legend-assisted title track to his celebrated mixtape, and his general life philosophy — tattooed on his face over the weekend.

The Miami native had the ink placed below his lip — which was just about the only spot on lower face that it could fit, since the rest is occupied by his well-manicured beard.

The artist responsible for the tattoo, Nikko Hurtado, posted a flick of the process in action on his own account. Hurtado has worked with other celebs, including Drake, The Game and Wale, as well as others like Carlos Boozer and Jenna Jameson.

Looking in the mirror to see those words permanently written on your face is one way to stay motivated.

Floyd Mayweather Made It Rain All Over The Club After His Scuffle With T.I.

by 05/26/14

In an interview on Sunday following his reported scuffle with T.I. on Saturday night, Floyd Mayweather said that the issue stemmed from Tip feeling insecure about a picture his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, posted on Instagram of her and the boxer. He swore the rapper had nothing to worry about, though, because he and Tiny’s relationship was never an inappropriate one. But he was singing a bit of a different tune at a club following the clash.

“That’s what I told T.I.: These hoes ain’t loyal,” Mayweather says in a clip posted to YouTube, from that same night, as Chris Brown’s “Loyal” plays in the club.

Besides that bit of trash talk, it seemed like the champion fighter was all smiles in the incident’s aftermath. In a separate video, obtained by TMZ, the 37-year-old is seen throwing money incessantly while walking through the club.

T.I., meanwhile, posted a video on his Instagram on Sunday with the caption, “Two black what?????? C’mon now. Never in da history of N—a-dom. But nice try tho. Lol,” as a response to rumors that he was injured in the altercation. He did, however, flash a shot of his hand, which was bandaged. “F–ked my hand up,” he laughed. “That’s about it.”

Floyd is also looking to show that he’s moved on it seems. On Monday (May 26), he posted a picture of himself boarding a flight to Miami.

Kim Was Bound 2 Fall In Love After Hearing These 9 Romantic Kanye Lyrics

by 05/25/14

Let’s face it: Many of Kanye West’s rhymes suggested that we would never arrive at this moment — the time where he commits to one woman for the rest of his life. But that’s exactly what went down this weekend, when Yeezy tied the knot with Kim Kardashian.

CLICK: Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Are Officially Married

He probably didn’t win her heart over with lines like, “Whipped it out, she said ‘I never seen Snakes on a Plane.’”

But ‘Ye’s got a romantic side, too. So, in honor of the big day, here are nine of Kanye’s most romantic lines.

“Yesterday I was half the man you see/ Baby that’s because you the other half of me” — Pharrell’s “Number One”

“There’s a lot of stars in here ain’t it?/ But you shine so much they don’t seem famous” — The Dream’s “Walking On The Moon”

“But, oh child you my destiny, and I know it’s especially” — Ne-Yo’s “Because of You (Remix)”

“And told her, ‘Even though I met you in a club in a tight dress/ At first sight I could picture you in a white dress’” — “White Dress”

“Let the wind blow the ash right before my glasses/ So I wrote this love letter right before my classes” — Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down”

“I know I seen you before, but don’t know where I seen ya/ Oh I remember now, you’re something that I dreamed of” — Kid Cudi’s “Erase Me”

Why Won’t Big Sean Pick Up? Royce Da 5’9″ Wants To Know On ‘Keep It 100′

by 05/23/14

On his “Control” verse, Big Sean raps that it’s “Detroit vs. everybody.” But Royce da 5’9″ may beg to differ, as new lyrics suggest that Sean has been avoiding the fellow D-Town native’s calls.

The rhymes come on “Keep It 100,” a solo Royce song that’s featured on House Rules, the new mixtape from he and his Slaughterhouse groupmates, which dropped this week. As the song title suggests, the 36-year-old uses the track to speak honestly about some situations in his life — both personal and professional.

At the 1:50 mark, he sets the stage by describing what it’s like when people are constantly hitting him up to get to Eminem, before bringing up Sean:

“Shady got these industry n—as on some fiend sh-t/They use me to try to get to him, like a seamstress/ I tell a n—a quick to e-mail Paul/ And quit acting like a female dog/ Other than that, shout out my n—a Khaled/ You the homie, my n—a/ If it was up to me, you know bro would be on it my n—a/ You turned that Ross verse around for me in like a day/ While I’m blowing Big Sean phone up for a verse/ Feeling like, instead of this busy body sh-t with my family/ I might as well try for ‘Ye”

It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Nickle mentions people using him to get to Em just lines before ...

Is 2 Chainz Invited To The KimYe Wedding? Watch Him Dance Around The Question

by 05/23/14

2 Chainz and Kanye West have developed both a working relationship and what appears to be a friendship in recent years. So does that mean Tit will be at Yeezy and Kim Kardashian’s this weekend?

“Why would you put me in that blender?” the rapper laughed when MTV News asked if he had received any invitations lately.

Though he ended up dancing around the question, Chainz did wax poetic about love, and for that we salute him. “Life is a book with many chapters,” he said. “So, you know, we gonna have our up and downs. We talk a lot of stuff on these records, but rappers be falling in love, too.”

And it’s a beautiful thing, but can you just answer the question please?

Whitney Houston Biopic Coming To Lifetime

by 05/22/14

A little more than two years since Whitney Houston’s death, a biopic on the singer’s life is in the works and set to appear on Lifetime, according to Deadline.

The movie, tentatively titled “Whitney Houston,” will reportedly focus on the relationship between the late icon and her husband, singer Bobby Brown, while also spotlighting her status as a force in the worlds of singing and acting.

“I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” Angela Bassett, who will be making her directorial debut on the project, said in a statement. “Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.”

There were also reports back in 2012 that Clive Davis was working on a Houston biopic, though nothing has yet emerged.

Tupac’s Last Words: ‘F–k You’

by 05/22/14

Despite its high profile, the murder of Tupac Shakur remains a case shrouded in mystery. This September will mark 18 years since the Las Vegas shooting that led to the rap star’s death, and still no one has been arrested for the murder. Theories abound, but just as many questions remain.

One new tidbit has come to light after all of these years, though. Chris Carroll, a now-retired officer in the Las Vegas Police Department, says ‘Pac’s last words were truly memorable: “F–k you.”

This comes according to Carroll, who was on patrol on a bike the night of the shooting — which occurred following a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand — and who was the first officer to arrive at the scene. Carroll spoke with Vegas Seven about that night, and recalled opening the 25-year-old’s bullet-ridden passenger side door, simply to have him fall into his arms, bloody and nearly lifeless:

So I’m looking at Tupac, and he’s trying to yell back at Suge, and I’m asking him, ‘Who shot you? What happened? Who did it?’ And he was just kind of ignoring me. He was making eye contact with me here and there, but he’s trying to yell at Suge. And I kept asking over and over, ‘Who did this? Who shot you?’ And he basically kept ignoring me. And then I saw in his face, in his movements, all of a sudden in the snap of a finger, he changed. And he went from struggling to ...

Fat Joe’s ‘Another Day’ Got Queen Latifah’s Stamp Of Approval

by 05/22/14

With reporting by Renaud Jean-Baptiste

Tons of hip-hop hits are built on samples of older songs, and Fat Joe’s latest single, “Another Day,” is one of the latest examples.

For his Rick Ross, French Montana and Tiara Thomas-assisted single, Joey sampled Queen Latifah’s 1993 cut “Just Another Day.” And though she ultimately gave him the go ahead, the rap legend was a little hesitant at first.

“Latifah’s my girl; she love it, she cleared it,” Fat Joe told MTV News. “We all get funny when people redo our songs. You get slightly offended but then you be like, ‘That’s Joey, that’s my brother.’ So Latifah, she cleared it, I got on the phone with her.”

Joe absolutely beamed when Latifah’s name came up in our interview; even with all that he’s accomplished in his own career, it’s hard for the Bronx, New York MC to hide his admiration. “Queen Latifah one of the dopest female MCs that ever lived, and where she took her career, a whole ‘nother level what she’s done for hip-hop music, so it was an honor to even touch her sample,” he gushed.

Like the original song, the Terror Squad honcho’s musical tale tracks the downside of living in the hood. The video, which dropped over the weekend, captures that stress visually.

“Growing up in the Bronx, and seeing things haven’t been changing, people still going through struggles,” he said. “It’s just an ordinary day in the hood.”

At the end of the video, which premiered on MTV Jams on Sunday, a ...

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Let Loose At NYC Show After Costume Controversy

by 05/22/14

NEW YORK — What better way to unwind after a stressful week than to party with thousands of people that adore you? Seems like a winning formula to forget your worries. And that’s exactly what Macklemore & Ryan Lewis did on Wednesday night.

Following a controversial few days — sparked by Mack’s dressing up for a surprise show over the weekend in a costume that some perceived to be mocking Jewish stereotypes, the Seattle rapper and his partner-in-song, Lewis, hit the stage at Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom for the first American Express Membership Experiences Concert Series. Macklemore had earlier addressed the controversy, saying he never meant to offend, and Ryan Lewis told MTV News on Wednesday afternoon that it was a “massive misunderstanding.”

By last night, the fellas seemed ready to party, imploring fans on multiple occasions to “turn the f–k up!” And the Shark Face Gang happily obliged.

Exploding pyrotechnics and a wave of cheers marked the show’s official start, as Macklemore — backed by a band, as always — launched into “10,000 Hours,” off of 2012′s The Heist. From there, he took it back a bit, performing “Crew Cuts,” off of 2009′s The Vs. EP.

It wasn’t just about rapping, though. In between songs, Macklemore often told stories, like the one about the summer he came to the Big Apple when he was 17.

“I would go out, and I would get these really weird costumes,” he said. “I would put on these really weird outfits, like these plaid outfits, a whole ...
