Watch A Great Big World Perform ‘Already Home’ After Chad Vaccarino Bravely Comes Out

by 12 mins ago

You can always count on A Great Big World to bust out a feel-it-deep-in-your-heart ballad. And when they performed on “Trailblazers,” airing tonight (June 26) at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. CT on LOGO, it was the same heart-wrenching way.

The duo slow-jammed to “Already Home” with a small orchestra, singing “When you’re scared and alone, just know that I’m already home.” When we caught up with the guys on the “Trailblazers” red carpet, Chad Vaccarino revealed the LGBT event was especially meaningful for him because he had come out just hours before.

“I feel like everyone accepts you, if you accept yourself,” he told MTV News.

Watch the performance below to get pumped for tonight’s show, a first of its kind event to honor the pioneers who have made historic strides for LGBT equality.

by 2 mins ago

Sorry, Fergie, but big girls DO cry.

That is, according to Sia’s new song “Big Girls Cry,” off her upcoming album 1000 Forms of Fear. The track, posted Wednesday (June 25), proves that even the most put-together ladies can break down once in a while.

“I don’t care if I don’t look beauty/ Big girls cry when their hearts are breaking,” she belts, singing about a tough girl who lives alone. After bottling up her emotions, she lets go.

The singer/songwriter is set to perform her song “Chandelier” backed by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus at Logo’s Trailblazers on Thursday at 9 p.m. on LOGO.

Sia’s “Big Girls Cry” follows “Chandelier” and “Eye of the Needle” from her new LP, out July 8.

Why Michael Jackson Is Still The King Of Pop

by 40 mins ago

In 2009, Michael Jackson was in the middle of rehearsing for a string of shows at London’s O2 Arena. But on June 25, the King of Pop died of cardiac arrest due to a doctor-assisted drug overdose The concerts were intended to be his last live performances — 50 in total — a big bang before retirement.

But five years later, we didn’t need that big bang. We have the entirety of MJ’s career, which was an impressive spectacle in itself. Here are a few reasons why Michael Jackson will always be the King of Pop to us:

He Was A Star From The Beginning
At 6 years old, Michael made it big with his brothers in the Jackson 5. And then he gave us 44 more years of music.

His Music Videos? Legendary.
Find someone who doesn’t know “Thriller.” I dare you. The 13-minute video set precedents for music filmmaking and was MTV’s first world premiere.

His Over-The-Top Fashion
MJ was an icon when it came to style. The one-handed glove, the hat, the socks — he had a look that was all his own. He was also known for flaunting some special jackets.

The MOONWALK
Not only was he a master at pop music, he was a master at pop dance! Seeing him groove in concert was even more mindblowing than seeing him on TV. And he knew all the secrets of putting on a show, even putting white tape ...

Beyonce To Star In ‘Hancock 2′ With Will Smith?

by 1 min ago

Will Beyoncé star in “Hancock 2″ with Will Smith? According to Vibe, the singer will be taking the role of Carly Kicker in the follow-up to the 2008 film.

The magazine cites IMDb as the source of the info, but when MTV News checked back, it had since been deleted.

Bey, who kicks off a tour with husband Jay Z on Wednesday (June 25) night, most recently showed off her acting skills in the trailer for the On The Run Tour. The trailer featured big names like Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida and Kidada Jones.

Beyonc#&233′s latest acting credit was for 2013′s “Epic,” when she voiced Queen Tara. But don’t forget her surprise album, made up entirely of cinematic music videos.

Back in 2011, Bey was linked to Clint Eastwood’s “A Star is Born” remake, but had to back out. That film has yet to start production.

Those Iggy Pop Justin Bieber Torture Ads Were Totally Fake

by 14 mins ago

If you thought that Iggy Pop ad from Amnesty International last week was a little off, you were correct. The singer is claiming that he never agreed to his photo in the PSA, which was featured with the ironic tagline: “Justin Bieber is the future of rock n’ roll.”

The Belgium ads were meant to imply that torture (using photos of bloodied and bruised public figures) pushed people into making confessions and false claims. As Iggy Pop stated on his Twitter on Tuesday (June 24), Amnesty is now apologizing for the doctored images.

To generate awareness about our campaign against torture, Amnesty International Belgium French speaking section used an image of Iggy Pop without his authorization.

Even though we acted in good faith, we would like to apologise to Iggy Pop for having done so.

The overall goal of this campaign is to try to influence people’s ideas on the use of torture. According to surveys, a shocking number of people believe that “torture may sometimes be useful” ; more than 36% of people even think that torture is justified in some cases. This is unacceptable, and we illustrate this reality with the message that a man who is tortured will say anything in order to escape this awfulness, using provocative images and statements to attract public attention. We would therefore also like to make it clear that the statement attributed to Iggy Pop that he believes Justin Bieber is the future of rock and roll does not ...

Taylor Swift’s Kitten Has Her In Pure Disbelief: Watch And Squeal

by 19 mins ago

Cue the “I can’t evens” and the “OMFGs.” Taylor Swift has posted a new video of Olivia Benson (her new kitten, for those strange folk out there who don’t know who that is).

In the clip, we see lil’ Olivia hanging upside-down in Tay’s arms, just snoozin’ on a plane. Swift seems a little in disbelief.

Want An Instagram Comment From Taylor Swift? Try This.

“I don’t even know how this is happening,” she said. “But it’s happening. She’s a really aggressive sleeper.”

Fans responded similarly: “Soo good XD XD XD,” “So much love for this!” and “omg that is the cutest!” One fans said she missed Meredith.

Don’t worry Swifties, Meredith is probably up in first class sipping on unpasteurized sheep’s milk.

Meet Olivia Benson. Has anyone ever told you that you look like a baby polar bear?

Demi Lovato Has Some Choice Words For The Paparazzi

by 15 mins ago

Demi Lovato had some sensible tweets for the paparazzi on Monday night, elaborating on the age-old Golden Rule. Basically, be nice to me, and I’ll be nice to you.

The singer, who just released a teaser for her “Really Don’t Care” video (out Thursday), apologized to her fans for not being able to greet them.

After departing some wisdom on “staying strong,” she retweeted a supportive fan, who tugged on heartstrings with a childhood photo of Demi.

Ed Sheeran’s X: An Album Cheat Sheet

by 20 mins ago

Ed Sheeran’s x is out today. Rejoice! I’m feeling confident that you Sheerios have already purchased the album (Harry Styles has), but here are a few facts about the album you can take in while listening.

The Name
The album’s title is x, as in the mathematical function, not the alphabetical letter. So when you write it, type “x,” but when you say it (proudly, of course), it’s pronounced “multiply.” Just like Sheeran’s debut album +, which was pronounced “plus.” x, multiply, x, multiply, x, multiply. Got it?

The Release Date
It’s today, you bonehead!

Sorry about that. x is out Monday, June 23. Ed announced the date back on April 4, but had been contemplating it for a long while.

“I’m basically going to be promoting this ["Hobbit"] song up until awards season, and then as soon as awards season is done, the next album begins,” Sheeran told us in December, referring to his chance at a 2014 Academy Awards nomination. He didn’t get one, but we sure are glad he’s focusing on his sophomore album. Have you heard it? It sounds like audible foot rubs and crackling fires and maybe, like, a taste of champagne at a discotheque.

The Track List
“One”
“I’m a Mess”
“Sing”
“Don’t”
“Nina”
“Photograph”
“Bloodstream”
“Tenerife Sea”
“Runaway”
“The Man”
“Thinking Out Loud”
“Afire Love”
“Take It Back” (Bonus track)
“Shirtsleeves” (Bonus track)
“Even My Dad Does Sometimes” (Bonus track)
“I See Fire” (Bonus track)

The Video
If you love Muppets getting drunk, loading ladies into a Hummer limo, and puking glitter into a urinal, the “Sing” video is going to work ...

Baby Bump Weekend: See Christina Aguilera And Hayden Panettiere Flaunt ‘Em

by 8 mins ago

The bumps have arrived. The babies are kickin’. And these celebrities are proudly showing their bellies. Christina Aguilera, Kelly Rowland and Hayden Panettiere have been boasting bumps lately, so take a look.

Christina Aguilera

Xtina announced her pregnancy back in February, shortly after she revealed she was engaged to production assistant Matt Rutler. Now, Baby Aguilera is almost here, and the “Voice” coach, who is a taking a break from the show for this exact reason, wanted to share a quick (and slightly sponsored) snap.

Kelly Rowland

Kelly posted a pic of herself doing yoga in a gym last week. And while her sukhasana was looking strong, her baby bump was really the feature of this photo. The former member of Destiny’s Child also used Instagram to announce her pregnancy with newlywed husband Tim Witherspoon earlier this month.

Hayden Panettiere

The “Nashville” actress won’t really spill on her pregnancy, but sources revealed earlier this month that Hayden and her fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, are expecting. It was pretty much confirmed in some paparazzi swimsuit pictures later, anyway. Panettiere was caught on the street with her hubby-to-be, flaunting her baby-to-be underneath a flowy, black top.
