Logan Lerman Maybe, Possibly Punched Brad Pitt In The Face

by 42 mins ago

Filming the World War II tank drama “Fury” required Logan Lerman to squeeze into tight quarters with his co-stars, including Brad Pitt, and before he closed the hatch on his cast at the start of filming, director David Ayer wanted the actors to get even closer.

So he made them physically fight each other.

Lerman told us all about the exercise during out most recent interview, and it sounds like Ayer took the phrase “hands-on” to new extremes.

“One of the main things that we did every day that was a part of the director’s process was fought each other. We sparred together,” Lerman said. “We just fought openly. That really broke barriers surprisingly. Once you’re able to hit somebody and start punching them in the face, you can go anywhere with them physically in a scene.”

So in his many bouts with the cast, did Lerman ever land a good one on Pretty Boy Pitt? He says he doesn’t remember, but from how he describes Pitt’s fighting style, it sounds like a “no.”

“Brad’s a tough guy — you know — to punch,” Lerman said. “He’s quick. He’s got those moves.”

Prep for the film didn’t stop at fighting. In the four or five months before filming on “Fury” began, the cast spent nights together in tents together.

Wow, talk about intense!

(I regret nothing.)

“Fury” hits theaters on October 17.

‘Bill And Ted 3′ Will Have Some More Familiar Faces — If It Ever Happens

by 21 mins ago

For the past few years, pretty much every interview with Keanu Reeves has come with a question about the ever-changing status of “Bill & Ted 3.” In that time, the proposed sequel has come from not happening to happening and back again.

When MTV most recently spoke to Reeves for his new action movie “John Wick,” the actor’s “BT3 Meter” was still pointing to “not happening.”

“It’s closer to happening, but not happening,” he said. “We’re fighting the good fight.”

At this point, we know there’s a story in place if a third “Bill and Ted” ever were to happen, and Reeves did offer up this tease for fans who are eager for an update on the lives of Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esq.

The princesses will return.

“We’re married. The marriage is falling apart,” Reeves said. “Bill and Ted, they’re busy. They’re trying to write the song that saves the world.”

As for that other potential Reeves sequel you may have heard about: it doesn’t sound like “Speed 3″ is happening.

“That sounds like it was made out of inter-air,” Reeves said.

The One Way ‘Justice Leage’ Already Has Marvel Beat

by 8 mins ago

Warner Bros.’s massive, 10-film superhero announcement shocked people for a number of reasons.

Obviously, there’s the sheer scope and ambition of the plan. Marvel has always let movie announcements trickle out one-by-one. This was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, not only in superhero movies.

Related: 13 Things We’re Dying To Know About DC’s Justice League Plans

But Marvel says they have a plan that extends even beyond the reaches of WB’s DC slate. Where the Justice League has the Avengers beat, however, matters a lot more than the number of sequels, spin-offs and team-ups.

When the official list dropped yesterday, Twitter users were quick to point out that the DC slate included standalone movies led by a woman (Gal Gadot), an openly queer actor (Ezra Miller), and an African American man (Ray Fisher).

The celebration in diversity also brought with it several observations that Marvel has yet to follow through on its talk about non-white and female superheroes.

To be fair to Marvel, they have only officially announced their film slate through early 2017, so it’s possible that a Captain Marvel movie could hit theaters the same year as “Wonder Woman,” or a Black Panther film years before “Cyborg.”

Either way, the announcement helped set a new standard for more representative superheroes, and hopefully, it is a sign of things to come.

“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.

Chris Hemsworth Faces Moby Dick For The ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’ Trailer

by 35 mins ago

You’ve seen Chris Hemsworth as the god of thunder. You’ve seen Chris Hemsworth as a dude that hunts stuff. You’re going to see Chris Hemsworth as a hacker.

But have you even seen Chris Hemsworth tossing harpoons at whales?

No, you haven’t (unless you have some crazy stories I don’t know about), and that’s why you should definitely check out the first trailer for Ron Howard’s new movie “In the Heart of the Sea.”

This is the true life story of the Essex, the whaling ship that sank and inspired “Moby Dick.”

“In the Heart of the Sea” hits theaters on March 13.

Emma Watson Inspires Logan Lerman To Support Her ‘All The Way’

by 2 mins ago

After Emma Watson made her inspiring speech in front of the U.N., many of her friends and former co-stars took to Twitter to voice their support, including her “Perks of Being a Wallflower” love interest Logan Lerman.

We caught up with Lerman while he was promoting his new film “Fury,” and he shared some more thoughts about Watson’s achievement and the launch of #HeforShe.

“A great speech, it was really, really powerful and moving,” Lerman said.

“Did it surprise me? In a way, it didn’t. I know that she’s an incredible person, who’s capable of doing amazing things. It’s great that she brought attention to that issue that isn’t normally brought up in that arena. I’m really proud of her, and I totally support equality. I’m with her all the way.”

”Fury” opens in theaters on October 17.

13 Things We’re Dying To Know About DC’s Justice League Plans

by 25 mins ago

So Warner Bros. pretty much blew up with the world with its massive, 10-film line-up, but we have a few questions.

There were more than a couple blanks in the super ambitious plan, and while I’m still processing the enormity of the announcement, this is what I’m most curious about right now.

1. Why are there two “Justice League” movies?

DC Comics

The split is usually reserved for book adaptations that are just too big. Why set this as the plan from the word “go”? Well, besides money.

2. And why are they two years apart?

GalleryChar_1900x900_JusticeLeague_52ab8e54d0a6f0.42170553

With “The Flash” and “Aquaman” falling in between the two movies, it doesn’t make it seem like there will be a cliffhanger after “Part One.” Is the story just that big?

3. When will there be a new Batman movie?

Ben Affleck as BatmanWarner Bros

There’s been so much made around Ben Affleck as the new Dark Knight, so why didn’t WB slate a new standalone Batman movie? They have plans for more Batman, but if it’s before 2020 as the announcement implies, that means three DC movies in one year.

4. How soon will see see the Flash?

flash-green-lantern

Since the role is already cast, will Ezra Miller make his debut in “Dawn of Justice”? “Also, our apologies to Grant Gustin. We still love you.

5. How different will “The Flash” be from the TV show?

Assuming that the CW show is still around in 2018, ...

What Will Happen In ‘Captain America 3,’ Based On The Comics?

by 53 mins ago

Whether you like it or not, “Captain America 3″ is going to pit two of your favorite heroes against each other, and that’s only part of what the “Civil War” storyline might tell us about the upcoming Marvel movie.

The enormous comic book event featured several iconic moments that made an impact on the Marvel Universe at large. If “Captain America 3″ borrows more than just the title from “Civil War,” here are some things that might happen.

Heroes Take Sides

spider-man-avengers

You can’t really call the conflict “Civil War” if it’s just a beef between Cap and Iron Man. The heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are going to be forced to choose sides. Since this isn’t an “Avengers” movie, I wouldn’t bet on there being that many heroes showing up to vote either “Cap” or “Stark,” but there are rumors already circulating about Hawkeye, War Machine and more showing up for the party.

Captain America Dies…

The biggest effects of the “Civil War” event on the Marvel comics rippled directly out of a single source: the assassination of Captain America. Early rumors suggest that the events of “Captain America 3″ will sideline Steve Rogers for “Avengers 3″ at the very least, so this could be a clue about how the book and movie stories will line up. But would Marvel actually kill off Steve Rogers?

Nope. That’s because Chris Evans ...

See Zach Galifianakis’ Dramatic Weight Loss Transformation

by 8 mins ago

When “The Hangover” launched Zach Galifianakis to comedic stardom, it was as a particular kind of funnyman: the chubby guy, one of those comedians who turned his weight into something that was just part of the joke.

But for any fan of Galifianakis’ unique and hilarious strange brand of humor, there’s always been more to him than that one insult often repeated back to him by guests on “Between Two Ferns.”

And now with the the press for his new film, “Birdman,” underway, Galifianakis is very publicly debuting a new image, and I think it really looks good on him.

For reference, here’s Galifianakis at the premiere of “The Hangover: Part II” in 2011.

And here he is now.

Good job, dude!
