Robert Downey Jr. Fuels ‘Iron Man 4′ Speculation

by 3 mins ago

Up until recently, it hasn’t looked like there’s ever going to be another solo Iron Man movie.

First of all, Robert Downey Jr.‘s contract only includes the next two “Avengers.” Then there’s the fact that “Iron Man 3″ pretty much ended his individual storyline. Also, RDJ has said that he’s probably done.

Well, I guess he’s changed his mind, maybe, possibly?

The actor appeard on “Ellen” to talk about “The Judge,” which is out this week, and DeGeneres got what might be considered an answer out of him.

“I know there’s going to be a bunch more Marvel movies, and they have a big idea of how to do it best, and we’re in the middle of negotiations,” Downey said.

When Ellen asked if that meant, yes, there is going to be another “Iron Man,” he gave an obliging “Okay, yes.”

Now, if you watch the video, Downey sounds like he’s just saying that to please Ellen, but there might be something to it.

It should come as no surprise that Marvel would be interested in getting their biggest earner back in the fold, but this one might come down to how Downey feels about more time in the iron suit.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” opens in theaters on May 1.

How Different Was ‘Gone Girl’s’ Most Gruesome Scene In The Book?

by 20 mins ago

SPOILERS BELOW

If you checked out “Gone Girl” this weekend (and based on the box office results, there’s a good chance of that), you probably have a newfound fear of box cutters and how they relate to your sex life.

We’ve already heard from the cast about how filming the scene was something like a military operation, complete with dozens of showers, but how did the gruesome death of Desi Collings play out in Gillian Flynn’s book?

Most of what leads up to the deed plays out as we see it on screen. Desi takes Amy to his lake house, and over time she realizes that there’s no escaping her “posh jailer.” With Desi’s mom as a presence in the novel, however, Amy is concerned that she might have an unexpected visitor. Things start really looking bad for Amy when Desi begins to starve her in order to get her back to “Amy circa 1987.”

“He’s thinning me up, he always preferred his women waify…. I am almost my normal weight again, and my hair is growing out…. Yes, it’s all about my well-being, not that fact that he wants me to look exactly like I did before.”

Desi is much more psychologically manipulative in the novel, instead of just plain creepy, and a veiled “threat disguised as concern” demonstrates that.

“If you ever left here and I didn’t know where you were, I’d have to go to the police,” he says. “I’d have no choice. I’d need to make sure ...

Emily Ratajkowski On ‘Gone Girl’ Nudity: ‘I Felt Like I Was With Family’

by 3 mins ago

You probably know Emily Ratajkowski from the “Blurred Lines” video, but if you see “Gone Girl” this weekend, you’ll see her in her biggest movie role to date.

You’ll also see a lot of her. Like, physically.

Ratajkowski told us that the nudity didn’t faze her because of how comfortable everyone was on set.

“It was a small, closed set,” she said. “Everyone, we had been in Missouri for several weeks together. It felt like I was with family almost. You’re in character, so it doesn’t feel personal.”

“Gone Girl” is in theaters now.

The Story Behind ‘Gone Girl’s Most Insane Scene

by 13 mins ago

I’m going to be frank. If you haven’t seen “Gone Girl,” you have no business reading this article. Even if you’ve read the book, but haven’t seen the movie, don’t read this. Go see it. Then come back and read.

FINAL SPOILER WARNING

Since you’ve definitely seen “Gone Girl,” I can imagine that you’d like to know the story behind that scene. You know, the one where, to escape from Desi (Neil Patrick Harris), Amy (Rosamund Pike) cuts his throat, mid-coitus, with a box cutter. That scene.

As gruesome as the scene was to watch unfold, on set it was a carefully planned and professionally executed (excuse the pun) by director David Fincher, the cast and crew.

“I remember thinking of brilliantly planned it was,” Pike said when we spoke with her during the “Gone Girl” press day. “There were lots of moving parts. It involved a major reset of the set and the actors after every time we ran through it.”

The crew shot just that scene for two full days, completely resetting the actors and the set after every take, and since Fincher is known for his love of multiple takes, that meant a lot of blood removal.

“It was like a military operation. The room, basically after every take, had to be completely reset,” Pike said. “It was like one load of furniture went out, and another load of furniture came in. We went out and came back as ...

Is This Benedict Cumberbatch’s Chance To Play Doctor Strange?

by 15 mins ago

Yesterday, we got some bad news. Joaquin Phoenix’s negotiations with Marvel Studios broke down, and he’s no longer in the running to play Doctor Strange. I had been looking forward to seeing what he would do the character, but the show has to go on.

Before Phoenix emerged as the frontrunner, there were a host of other actors up for the role, including the internet’s favorite Benedict Cumberbatch. Back at Comic-Con, the “Sherlock” star confirmed to us that he had heard about “Doctor Strange,” but that he couldn’t do it due to his commitments to a London production of “Hamlet.”

Cumberbatch wouldn’t comment if he had any official discussion with Marvel, but it certainly sounds like the part was seriously considered by the actor.

And Cumberbatch was far from the only other actor connected to the role. As Marvel heads back to square one for casting, let’s take a look at who has been considered for Stephen Strange.

Benedict Cumberbatch

The Facts: Deadline named him as one of the two actors Marvel was interested in. Cumberbatch then told MTV that scheduling got in the way.
How Likely: It’s possible that Cumberbatch could do both “Hamlet” and “Doctor Strange,” since it’s shooting just outside London, but the crammed schedule is still an issue.

Tom Hardy

What If Tyler Perry Had Directed ‘Gone Girl’? See The Poster

by 12 mins ago

Artwork by Old Red Jalopy

Tyler Perry’s fantastic “Gone Girl” performance is an objective fact, but the first time he shows up in the new David Fincher movie, it’s as if he wandered in from a different movie.

Regardless of how well it turned out, it was an unexpected casting choice, and we couldn’t help but imagine what “Gone Girl” would be like if it were a more typical Tyler Perry movie.

Probably something like this.

Matthew McConaughey Just Did The Most Matthew McConaughey Thing Ever

by 27 mins ago

I think we’ve found it. I wasn’t sure it was possible, but I think this might be it. I’ll explain further after the you watch the video below.

So, if my calculations are correct, this is the mostly highly concentrated McConaughey to ever exist.

Let me run down the evidence:

1) He’s in Texas

2) He’s wearing a UT shirt.

3) He’s speaking to the entire UT football team.

4) He’s speaking in an inspirational manner…

5) ..about how he hasn’t fulfilled his own potential.

6) Then he performs his warm-up routine as seen in “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Ethan Hawke Told Us He Wants To Be Doctor Strange

by 6 mins ago

The latest casting rumor floating around about who will be the Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange” names Ethan Hawke, which is something that many fans dreamed up shortly after Scott Derrickson was hired as director.

While I don’t really buy the new rumor (and still have my fingers crossed for Joaquin Phoenix), we asked Hawke back in July if he would be up for the role, and he seemed more than game.

Check out the interview above!

“Doctor Strange” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 8, 2016.

Miles Teller Reveals The Struggles Of Casting The ‘Fantastic Four’ Reboot

by 18 mins ago

The Josh Trank-directed “Fantastic Four” reboot hits theaters in ten months, and fans haven’t even seen an official photo of the newly assembled team. Since the movie is shrouded in such a thick cloak of secrecy, we jumped at the opportunity to find out as much as we could from the new Mr. Fantastic, Miles Teller.

When Teller sat down with us to talk about his new film “Whiplash,” he also filled us in on how he ended up in the role of Reed Richards.

According to the actor, Michael B. Jordan joining as the Human Torch was the very first hire, due to his previous working relationship with Trank on “Chronicle.” The decision has definitely gotten some backlash by race-obsessed fans on the web, but Teller doesn’t see the point. “I think it’s great. It is a big thing,” he said. “You’re changing the race of a character. It’s like, ‘Why couldn’t the Human Torch be black?’”

Even though he came on after Jordan, Teller still met with Trank a year before production started, supposedly the only person to do so for the role, but it took some effort to win over the studio.

“It took a lot of convincing. For me with Reed Richards, I know Josh really had to [pull for me],” Teller said. “Josh did for all of the characters. For Jamie, he really vouched for [him]. For Mike, he was like, ‘This is my guy’ from the bat. He was very specific on who ...
