"It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," she told the magazine. "And especially, I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."

The cover went to Gwyneth Paltrow last year, and as she told the "Today" show in a pre-taped interview, the honor was something she never expected.

"What an incredible journey to go from that feeling to being on the cover of this magazine. I mean, you could have never told me that that would happen when I was 16 and insecure about my complexion," she said. "I hope it means something to more than just me, to people like me who feel unbeautiful in whatever skin they're in."

Nyong'o was born in Mexico and raised in Kenya and told People that she first associated beauty with what she saw on television, which was "light skin and long, flowing straight hair." Yet, it was her mother Dorothy that made Lupita realize her beauty saying that "I finally I believed her at some point."

5 Seconds Of Summer’s New York City Fans Are Like ‘A Good Version’ Of Tinder

NEW YORK CITY — "New York, make some noise! We're 5 Seconds of Summer," the Australian pop-punk band exclaimed as they took the stage Tuesday night, as if anyone in attendance needed the introduction. Their salutation, most likely a habit formed when opening for One Direction on the Take Me Home Tour, is now unnecessary seeing that fans began lining up outside the sold-out Best Buy Theater more than a day before doors even opened.

Amongst these 5SOS enthusiasts was 20-year-old Danielle Denigris who got to the venue at 10 p.m. the night prior.

"I love how energetic they are onstage, and how they have their own sort of sound," she told MTV News. "Waiting in line for 20 hours was definitely worth it because they're one of my favorite bands and I was within two feet of them."

The guys kicked off their set with "Eighteen" and performed a slew of fan-favorites, including all four songs from their new EP, She Looks So Perfect, plus a well-received rendition of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream."

Following the KP cover, the group flirted with the ladies in the audience, comparing their New York fans to a long distance relationship or an online romance. The guys said that finally seeing everyone was "kind of like Tinder — a good version — or 'Catfish' — turned out good."

Fan Paige Baltzersen witnessed the show front and center. The 21-year-old managed to shimmy her way up to the third row.

"Being that close was insane, even seeing, like, their hair color and, like, their facial expressions it was crazy," she ...

‘Marshmallow Peeps’ The Movie Is Coming, But Who Will Star?

Fresh on the heels of the Lego movie, yet another colorful staple of your childhood looks to be headed for Hollywood! According to Deadline, a deal has officially been inked for the development of a feature film about everyone's favorite nutritionally suspect springtime candy, marshmallow peeps.

The pitch that sold the Just Born candy company on doing a big-screen peep show (sorry, we had to): a fun family drama, about an adventurous young Peep who gets separated from his sugared brethren on the eve of a championship Peep diorama contest.

Needless to say, this is quite the exciting break for a candy that's been waiting for its moment in the spotlight since 1953. But which A-list celebs from this marshmallow world will be chosen to headline the film? Let's profile some likely peeps.

James Van Der Peep
After his big break on 1990s teen TV drama "Dawson's Peep," followed by years of relative obscurity as a small-screen bit player, this peep is so very ready to make a big, splashy comeback.

Leighton Peepster
Similarly, years of playing an upperclass marshmallow elite on the small screen have primed this talented young peep for the transition to feature films.

Justin Pieper
Fresh from a series of legal battles with a member of the peeparazzi, this popstar problem child of the peep world is looking to make a career change that will give him a fresh start.

Meryl Peep
The de facto grande dame of sugared celebrities, Meryl Peep is a classy chick who would lend an air of gravitas to the Peeps movie.

Liam Peepson
A craggy-looking peep ...

Kanye West Almost Had James Franco And Seth Rogen Perform ‘Bound 2’ Parody At His Wedding

Who says Kanye West can't take a joke? Maybe he wasn't into Jimmy Kimmel poking fun at him, but apparently 'Ye was a big fan of James Franco and Seth Rogen's .

The two actors had a ball when the Yeezus video dropped in November, recreating all of those awkward bike riding scenes while playing the roles of Kim and Kanye in a clip they called "Bound 3."

Apparently KimYe liked it so much, that they wanted to have Rogen and Franco perform the parody at their upcoming wedding. During a visit to The View on Tuesday, Franco explained that it took some time, but they did finally hear from Ye.

"We did get feedback," Franco explained, "Kim loved the video and we didn't hear back from Kanye so we kind of felt like he's not bashing us, but he probably hates it but he's not going to say anything."

"But then two weeks ago, we got a call from Kanye," he continued. "Seth and I were on the phone. We thought he was just going to let us have it. But he loved it. And I'm pretty sure I can say it now because I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. He wanted us to perform it live the night before his wedding at Versailles."

It's a shame that KimYe didn't lock in this entertainment, but maybe Franco is right. Things could've gotten a little awkward. "I think it would have been awesome for about 10 seconds, but then there would be Seth with his shirt off in ...

‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Four: What’s Coming Up Next?

All of the things are happening on Murder at the highest order in King's Landing, an impending assault on the great Wall of Westeros, dragon-fueled war in Essos — really, all of the things.

From the look of it, even more of the things are about to happen. HBO has released episode titles and descriptions for the fifth, sixth and seventh installments of the currently airing fourth season, giving us some interesting clues about where the show is headed.

Read on for the info, and our analysis.

Episode 5: "First of His Name"
What HBO Says: Cersei (Lena Headey) and Tywin (Charles Dance) plot the Crown's next move. Dany (Emilia Clarke) discusses future plans. Jon (Kit Harington) embarks on a new mission.

What We Say: Pretty vague! The title and the mention of Cersei and Tywin's plotting suggests that we'll see Joffrey's younger brother Tommen accept his place on the Iron Throne, perhaps in a grand ceremony. As for Jon's "new mission," perhaps this is the episode where the Night's Watch will return to Craster's Keep, as teased last week — or maybe he'll go on a sidebar of his own to go find Ygritte.

Episode 6: "The Laws of Gods and Men"
What HBO Says: Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and Davos (Liam Cunningham) set sail with a new strategy. Dany meets with supplicants. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) faces down his father in the throne room.

What We Say: It's that final sentence in the description that catches our eye. Tyrion's day in court may finally arrive here, with Tywin set to throw the ...
