‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Four: What’s Coming Up Next?

All of the things are happening on Murder at the highest order in King’s Landing, an impending assault on the great Wall of Westeros, dragon-fueled war in Essos — really, all of the things.

From the look of it, even more of the things are about to happen. HBO has released episode titles and descriptions for the fifth, sixth and seventh installments of the currently airing fourth season, giving us some interesting clues about where the show is headed.

Read on for the info, and our analysis.

Episode 5: “First of His Name”
What HBO Says: Cersei (Lena Headey) and Tywin (Charles Dance) plot the Crown’s next move. Dany (Emilia Clarke) discusses future plans. Jon (Kit Harington) embarks on a new mission.

What We Say: Pretty vague! The title and the mention of Cersei and Tywin’s plotting suggests that we’ll see Joffrey’s younger brother Tommen accept his place on the Iron Throne, perhaps in a grand ceremony. As for Jon’s “new mission,” perhaps this is the episode where the Night’s Watch will return to Craster’s Keep, as teased last week — or maybe he’ll go on a sidebar of his own to go find Ygritte.

Episode 6: “The Laws of Gods and Men”
What HBO Says: Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and Davos (Liam Cunningham) set sail with a new strategy. Dany meets with supplicants. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) faces down his father in the throne room.

What We Say: It’s that final sentence in the description that catches our eye. Tyrion’s day in court may finally arrive here, with Tywin set to throw the book at his least favorite son. Meanwhile, Stannis and Davos finally look set to make good on their promise to protect the Wall from the wildling assault. Maybe the Iron Bank of Braavos has come through with some funds after all.

Episode 7: “Mockingbird”
What HBO Says: Tyrion enlists an unlikely ally. Daario (Michiel Huisman) entreats Dany to allow him to do what he does best. Jon’s warnings about the Wall’s vulnerability fall on deaf ears. Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) follows a new lead on the road with Pod (Daniel Portman).

What We Say: Who is Tyrion’s unlikely ally? We have an idea, but saying anything would be saying too much. As for what Daario does best, that could involve one of two settings: the battlefield, and the bedroom. Brienne and Pod, meanwhile, look set for a road-trip of their own. Is Brienne searching for Sansa Stark, as she once promised Catelyn? As for the title, “Mockingbird” is a direct reference to Littlefinger, so expect to hear more from Sansa’s current caretaker.

What do you think will happen on these “Game of Thrones” episodes?
