Drake Showed Kendrick Lamar Some Serious Love At OVO Fest

by 32 mins ago

Now we can officially stop all of that talk about beef, bad blood — or, whatever you want to call it — between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. For a minute there, it seemed like things might never be the same between those two (after that “Control” verse) but on Monday night, Drizzy proved us wrong at OVO Fest.

Maybe it wasn’t as “monumental” as Kanye showing up last year to squash rumors of tension and sing Drake’s praises, but it still felt pretty good to know that two of the most talented rappers in the game are back on good terms.

Early in his set Drake brought his “twin brother” J. Cole to the stage, and before saying goodbye, he took a moment to send some love to Kendrick as well.

“I wanna shout out my n—a Kendrick Lamar,” he told the crowd. “Kendrick was on my album, we went on tour…that’s one of the hardest n—-s alive. He should be standing right [here].”

“There’s a lot of kings in this sh–, so shout out to Kendrick and shout out my brother J. Cole.”

Drake made sure to drop that one while everyone “had their camera phones out,” and maybe he did it with J. Cole on stage, because of what happened last week.

During Cole’s Dollar and A Dream II Tour stop out in Los Angeles, both Drake and Kendrick made cameos. But some concert goers interpreted Drizzy’s words as a slight, Read More →

Beyonce Laughs Off That Billion Dollar Elevator Fight On ‘Flawless (Remix)’ With Nicki Minaj

by 19 mins ago

Just like Nicki Minaj promised, we now understand why she delayed the release of “Anaconda” — so she and Beyoncé could stunt all over us this weekend. After years of Nicki naming Beyonce as her dream collaboration, these two titans finally teamed up on Bey’s “Flawless (remix).”

With Nicki by her side, it sounds like Queen Bey was feeling extra fearless, too.

She basically laughed off the endless gossip surrounding the elevator fight between Jay Z and her sister Solange, singing, “We escalate, up in this bitch like elevators/ Of course sometimes sh– go down, when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”

Oh, and, she spit that line one more time, just in case you might’ve missed a single word. “Of course sometimes sh– go down/ When there’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”

On the bridge Bey tells us that she learned good manners from her mama, but Solange taught her to speak her mind, and Jay Z definitely makes her feel so god d–n fine. We’d like to thank Solo for this one. Listen above via Beyonce’s website.

A Beyonce And Nicki Minaj Collaboration On ‘Anaconda?’ Yes Please

by 1 min ago

We’re not asking for a lot here — only that two female titans join forces to make the world of pop culture implode. Last weekend Nicki Minaj announced that she would delay the release of her single, “Anaconda,” for a few more days, adding that we’d find out “why,” soon enough.

Now, according to HipHopWired, it’s sounding like that “why” is because she needed some more time to get a Beyoncé feature on the track. We’ll repeat that…a Beyoncé feature on Nicki Minaj’s new single. Laaawd.

“My darlingz, I’ve pushed the release of Anaconda to next week, Monday 8/4,” she told fans, coyly. “I promise you will understand why before the week is out. Loveeeeeeee uuuuu.”

Nicki has expressed her admiration for Bey in the past, revealing that her wishlist for dream collaborations is pretty short and straightforward. “My fans want a Beyoncé collab,” she said during an interview with “The Breakfast Club” back in 2012. “That’s the only one.””

And if we rewind a little further, in 2010 she told US Weekly the same thing. “I’ve worked with just about all my dream collabs, like I’ve worked with Jay-Z and I’ve worked with Kanye and I worked with Rihanna and I’ve worked with Eminem,” she said. Those were at the top of my list. Now that I’ve done that, probably the only one on my list that I ...

Why’d Lil Wayne Sign Nicki Minaj? Because She Was ‘Annihilating Males’

by 37 mins ago

Lil Wayne probably couldn’t have predicted just how successful his signees Nicki Minaj and Drake would turn out to be, but he definitely had strong feelings about them from the start.

In his new XXL cover story, Weezy explained why he signed the two young rappers to his label a few years ago. As for Nicki, well, she was just out here hurtin’ dudes.

“I wanted a female. Every team needs a female to rep your gang [and] she was annihilating n—-s, I mean males,” Wayne said. “I was like, ‘I have to beef my sh– up on that muthaf—ka.’ She just knocked it out the park from day one. She’s just Nicki.”

When it came to Drake, Weezy was simply blown away by the fact that he could rap and sing so well.

“Call me old-fashioned and country, but with Drake, that was the first time I’d seen someone that knew how to sing and rap. That’s all it was,” he said. “I didn’t know nobody who knew how to do that. You had those old school singing n—-s, where people would do a little eight-bar verse on their songs. But [Drake] was spitting and singing and killing that too.”

It wasn’t instant though.

“It wasn’t until I heard him spitting on one of my beats when I was like, ‘This fool’s retarded.’ When I hear something that I know I can’t do better? That’s when I’m like, ‘They need to be on the team.’”

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ Cover Art Has Us Screaming ‘Holy G-String!’

by 11 mins ago

Can somebody please wipe me down? Nicki Minaj’s new “Anaconda” cover art just turned the temperature up to boiling point.

The Young Money rapper has been teasing a “surprise” for her Barbz on Twitter since yesterday, and I was expecting a new single, or a snippet of a new single, but somehow just the cover art for a new single managed to top an actual song.

Now, this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen Nicki in this rare squat position, but it just seems to get better every time.

That poor g-string never had a chance.

And, if I had to guess, this is going to be one helluva explicit track.

Chance The Rapper Is ‘Very Very Lonely’ And Also Excited For Lollapalooza In New Video

by 28 mins ago

So many emotions, so little time.

In his new video for the standout track “I Am Very Very Lonely,” Chance the Rapper takes us on a short but captivating visual trip.

We can only see the silhouettes of two humans getting up close and personal against the backdrop of vivid colors. And right before the video ends, we get a quick reminder that the 21-year-old is excited to hit the stage for Lollapalooza, in his hometown Chicago, on August 3.

We haven’t had any updates on his next solo project, but Childish Gambino revealed that he and Chance are working on a joint EP, that might actually see the light of day at some point in the future.

Blue Ivy Takes A Break From On The Run Tour To Get Some Serious Air

by 26 mins ago

Tour life can be exhausting, especially when mom and dad are two of the most successful artists in the world. Blue Ivy has been busy on the road, helping Beyoncé and Jay Z rehearse and get ready for their On The Run Tour, so she’s been finding some pretty simple ways to relax.

When she’s not backstage taking in the show, Blue finds some time to unwind with her parents, by taking strolls in the sunshine, and making sure that they give her some serious air.

On days when she’s not too tired from all of those shows, Blue steps it up and notch and hits the trampoline before lounging poolside.

We Learned Too Much About The Weeknd’s Sex Life On ‘King Of The Fall’

by 1 min ago

We’re not going to act like The Weeknd makes PG music of any sort, but the Toronto singer definitely ventures into overshare territory near the end of his latest single “King of the Fall.”

The track finds Abel crooning seductively about snatching girls from right under their boyfriends’ noses, and then he gives us some serious insight on one of his sexual demands. Instead of describing it, we recommend that you just listen for learn for yourself.

This new track follows “Often” and his appearance on Ty Dolla $ign’s “Or Nah (Remix).” His King Of The Fall Tour with Schoolboy Q and Jhené Aiko kicks off September 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, before hitting his hometown two days later.

Drake Finally Got His Kiss From Skylar Diggins And Sparks Flew — Literally

by 28 mins ago

This was a long time coming, and it was on live TV, so no one can deny that it happened. It wasn’t a kiss on the lips or anything, but to quote Drake, “I’ll take what I can get.”

The Toronto rapper’s obsession with WNBA player Skylar Diggins has become the butt of a few jokes over the past few months (plus, her boyfriend got a little annoyed), but they put all of that behind them when Drake hosted the ESPYs on Wednesday night.

Drizzy started by reading a poem about Diggins called “Can I Dig In?” — yep, he’s a clever one — and then she showed up behind him on stage, of course. She addressed his creeping, calling it “craziness” and finally consented to one kiss, if he’d stop all of it forever.

When it finally happened…sparks flew. And then they walked off the stage holding hands. Watch in the video above.

Are Drake And Chris Brown Cooking Up An ESPYs Skit?

by 21 mins ago

This is moving so fast that our heads are spinning. Just last week a photo surfaced of Drake and Chris Brown working together in the studio — that was notable enough, considering that whole bottle-throwing brawl — and now they’re filming an ESPYs skit together? What on earth.

According to TMZ, Drake, Breezy and NBA star Blake Griffin are teaming up for a skit that will play during the ESPYs on Wednesday night (July 16), when Drake hosts.

So far we’ve seen one photo from “rehearsals” with both Drake and Griffin, but Brown isn’t in view. A source revealed to TMZ that the skit would start in a law office, hit a sports locker room and finish up in a dentist’s office. The connection between these three locations? We have no idea.

We’re definitely excited to see what Drake comes up with for his first hosting gig, which he’s clearly excited for.

“It’s been a dream of mine for a long time,” he revealed on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown,” a few weeks ago. “I watched a guy that I look up to in every aspect of life — Jamie Foxx — do it and I always say if I can follow in his footsteps that’ll be a great career for me, so I was blessed with the opportunity to do it. ‘SNL’ gave me the confidence to do it.”
