‘Arrow’: Laurel Teams Up With Nyssa Al Ghul In This Exclusive Clip

by 40 mins ago

“Arrow” has already delivered some major twists and turns throughout the first three episodes of its third season, but none have impacted the show’s universe quite like the death of Sara Lance, the original Canary.

Of course, fans had always suspected that Sara’s sister Laurel (Katie Cassidy) would eventually become the comic staple Black Canary, but never has this conclusion seemed so inevitable as it does now, in this exclusive clip from Wednesday’s (October 29) episode, “The Magician,” airing on The CW.

In the clip, Laurel teams up with Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), the League of Assassins baddie and Sara’s ex-lover, to somehow avenge her sister’s death. The only question is, will this lead to Laurel’s currently clueless father (Paul Blackthorne) finally finding out the truth about his younger daughter’s untimely demise?

by 12 mins ago

Holy. Crap.

Did you think Snooki or even Beyoncé’s first post-baby pics were flawless? Well, wait till you see Ryan Gosling’s.

Mere weeks after celebrating the birth of his first child, daughter Esmerelda Amada Gosling, Gosling stunned the world with his post-baby body when he returned to work on his latest film, the ’70s noir flick “Nice Guys.”

“Friday was the first day on set, it went 12-plus hours,” a source told E!. “They shot during the day and at night. Ryan was in good spirits, but seemed tired.”

Well, all the Mommy Bloggers out there can say what they want about Gosling’s rapid return to hottie form, but we’re just so happy to see the new parent in good spirits so quickly after the birth of his first child. Hey girl, good work:

This First Look At ‘Into The Woods’ Features The Cast Actually Singing

by 24 mins ago

Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” has one of the best scores in recent-ish Broadway musical history, so imagine our surprise when the first trailer for the upcoming film adaptation starring Meryl Streep and Anna Kendrick featured absolutely no singing at all.

Lucky for us, now that the film’s Christmas 2014 release date is rapidly approaching, we’ve been given a lot more to work with, from Johnny Depp’s costume to this behind-the-scenes featurette. In the video, we see everything from interviews with Streep, Depp, and Emily Blunt to Jack’s beanstalk to, yes, actual singing. (From the prologue! “Go to the wood!”)

So check out the video below, but remember — be careful what you wish for.

Jennifer Lawrence And Chris Martin Have Reportedly Broken Up

by 25 mins ago

After only a couple of months of highly buzzed-about courtship and expertly dancing around the paparazzi, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin have reportedly called it quits. According to E!, the 24-year-old “Hunger Games” star and the Coldplay frontman have already thrown in the proverbial towel, which is obviously devastating news for both gossip outlets and people who were really huge fans of the couple nickname “Martin Lawrence.”

Of course, both Lawrence and Martin could easily find another rebound to soften the blow from this first rebound — JLaw recently split from her “X-Men” costar Nicholas Hoult, while Martin separated from Gwyneth Paltrow after 10 years of marriage — but Lawrence’s suitor is going to have to make sure he brushes up on his “Real Housewives of New Jersey.” (And maybe even buy some beans.)

“I would just rather have somebody that has the same taste in reality TV and, you know, isn’t afraid to fart in front of me than to have big, passionate love,” she told Vanity Fair in their November issue. “I don’t like fighting, and I find argumentative people the most annoying people on the planet. Like, why do you still want to be fighting? It’s just unattractive. We should both just move on and watch TV. Basically, what I’m saying is all I need in a relationship is somebody to watch TV with me.”

Fellas, get in line.

The 7 Most Haunted College Campuses In The World

by 5 mins ago

College life can be tough. Between classes, extracurriculars, internships, the pressure of having to know what you want to do with the rest of your adult life at a young age, and the faceless ghosts terrorizing you when you sleep, the “Animal House” life isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be.

Oh, wait, I’m sorry, were you thrown off by that last part? Basically, what I meant to say was that for some students, the college struggle goes beyond the academic and into the realm of the supernatural. Below, find the seven scariest real-life hauntings on college campuses:

7. Fordham University

The Bronx campus of Fordham University is gorgeous, but it also comes with icy ghost hands that will grab your shoulders in Keating Hall — the basement of which was once an old hospital morgue, if you believe the local legends. Also, ladies, be sure to say hi to the blonde ghost that haunts the shower room, even though she’ll never talk back. (She’s the silent type.)

6. Nagasaki University

Nearly 70 years after the atomic bomb hit Nagasaki, “screams, cries, and the smell of burning flesh” have all been reported from both students and visitors.

5. University of Illinois

Thinking about pursuing higher education at the University of Illinois? Great! Just hope you’re okay with the faceless man who terrorizes the student body. Legend has it, more than one student was found hanged in their closet after encounters with ‘Ol ...

The 17 Best Halloween Episodes In TV History

by 35 mins ago

Over the last few decades, holiday-themed “special” episodes have become as crucial to the network television landscape as sweeps and season finale cliffhangers. At their best they leave Halloween memories and costume hacks (we’re talking to you, Three Hole Punch Jim) for years to come, and at their worst, well, at least there’s always next week.

We’re focusing on the former category, here, so below find the 17 most awesomely memorable Halloween episodes in television history:

17. “The Rocky Horror Glee Show”

Just kidding, this episode was horrible. We’re here for Chris Colfer as Riff Raff and of course the singing, but boy, was this the beginning of the end for “Glee” as we once knew it. Let’s move on.

16. “Haunted” from “The Vampire Diaries”

“Haunted” was the first legitimately great episode of “The Vampire Diaries.” When many CW-watchers were about ready to pull the plug after week six, in came the Halloween episode to kill off a supposedly main character, ramp up Damon Salvatore as a villain, and drastically change the emotional direction of the show. Also, with everybody decked out in Halloween attire and Vampire Vicky terrorizing the town, it stands on its own as a Halloween special.

15. “Who Got Dee Pregnant?” from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”

This episode was great for many reasons, but the change in perspective and increasing levels of drunkenness eventually leading to the guys seeing Dee as an ostrich was an excellent culmination to a years-old joke.

14. “Spooky ...

Watch ‘Internet Trolls: The Musical’ And Never Leave A Mean Comment Again

by 12 mins ago

“Big, black holes instead of souls.”

Yep, that basically describes every hateful Tweeter hiding behind an egg icon, misogynist Anita Sarkeesian stalker, and obsessive reddit board troll that we know. It’s also a line from this hilarious “Internet Trolls – The Halloween Musical” by YouTubers AVbyte, who take down everyone from the vile creatures who participated in the recent celebrity nude photo thefts to those who leave mean comments on memorial Facebook pages.

“Or say we invoke a fappening/Before people know what’s happening/We’re gorging on all the lust and shame/Most anything’s fair game,” the trolls sing. Sadly, the whole #GamerGate business was left out, but we still give them mad props for taking these creatures down a peg:

11 TV Couples That Should Never Have Babies

by 31 mins ago

As we all know by now, shippers can be intense. TV viewers lock on to their “OTP” (One True Pairing, obviously) and create fan-art, rivalries, and sometimes even nastily-worded tweets to showrunners when their ship doesn’t go their way.

However, much like in real life, just because a couple looks cute onscreen or has great chemistry doesn’t mean they should stay together forever. I mean, check out would happen if these 11 TV ships had babies:

Is Diggle Done With Team ‘Arrow’? David Ramsey Weighs In

by 13 mins ago

If you can look past his newly-poor boss and his newly-dead friend Sara Lance, Diggle (David Ramsey) actually has things pretty good on “Arrow” right now — which, if you know anything about the madcap world of comic book shows, can be a kiss of death. (Just ask poor Bob over on “The Walking Dead.”)

So when we heard that Digs was gearing up for a super-special South American rescue mission on tonight’s (October 22) episode, “Corto Maltese,” we were worried. And according to Ramsey himself, maybe we should be.

“‘Corto Maltese’ is part of the instrument that’s used to put some of [Diggle's happiness] at risk,” he told MTV News over the phone. “I go to Corto Maltese to look for [A.R.G.U.S. agent] Mark Shaw, and there’s a relationship that he used to have with Lyla — still does.”

AR303a_0118bThe CW

A relationship with Diggle’s ex-wife-turned-girlfriend? Sounds like trouble — and of course, it gets worse.

“Not only A.R.G.U.S., but potentially my family, is at risk because of the things that Mark Shaw is involved in,” Ramsey continued. “So yeah, Diggle seems very happy right now with his family, but that happiness is at great risk in this episode.”

Of course Diggle, a crucial and founding member of Team Arrow, will live to see another day. But the main question with “Corto” seems to be, will he live to see another day with Team Arrow? The answer to that question after Oliver (Stephen Amell) confronted Diggle about leaving the ...

The 17 Most Terrifying Witches In Movie History

by 15 mins ago

From wart-nosed dog thieves to gorgeous beauty thieves to childhood essence thieves, there’s been an impressive array of cinematic witches over the past 100-ish years. Some are legitimately terrifying and can leave nightmares for years to come, while others show up on ABC Family marathons. (I think you know who I’m talking about.)

So, to officially separate the real deal from the posers, here are the 15 most terrifying witches in movie history, ranked in order of “AHHHHHHHH!”

17-15. Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer from “The Witches of Eastwick”

Jack Nicholson was actually the scary part of the movie, but they’re witches, so they count.

14. Queen Grimhilde from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”

Maybe not the most outwardly terrifying being a cartoon and all, but still — you never looked at an apple in quite the same way after you first saw “Snow White.”

13. Mary Sanderson from “Hocus Pocus”

Mary is definitely the comic relief of the Sanderson sisters, but that doesn’t really take away from the fact that, as a child, you knew she 100 percent wanted to eat you.

12. Sarah Sanderson from “Hocus Pocus”

Ditto for Sarah, though her love of torture and creepy singing voice gives her just a slight edge over her older sister.

11. The Wicked Witch of the West from “The Wizard of Oz”

The OG witch might lose a bit of her fright-factor with age (the film’s, and ours), but it’s still impossible to forget the way she ...
