by 8 mins ago

It’s been 35 years since “Alien” first taught audiences to scream in space, and just in time for the anniversary Titan Books is releasing a book featuring art – and photography – rarely seen before from the series.

Take a look below for some sneak peaks at the book, titled “Alien – The Archive,” which hits stores October 28… Including two aliens from “Alien: Resurrection” that look vastly different from the ones that ended up on screen.

ILOVEMAKONNEN Got A Gucci Mane Feature On ‘I Don’t Sell Molly No More’

by 4 mins ago

There’s nothing weird or surprising about Gucci Mane being featured on another Atlanta rapper’s song, but this was just a little unexpected since ILOVEMAKONNEN is very new on the scene…and Gucci is still in jail.

The new OVO signee has already released a version of “I Don’t Sell Molly No More,” featuring Wiz Khalifa, but the latest iteration features a verse from good ol’ Guwop. It seems unlikely that Gucci managed to sneak a microphone into jail, so this is probably an old verse that he had in the vault.

Being incarcerated certainly hasn’t stopped his musical output. “Speed Bumps” was released just two weeks ago, and not to mention the full mixtape, The Return of Mr. Perfect, which arrived in late September.

MAKONNEN has been keeping busy as well. He recently dropped a video for his Drake-featured remix of “Tuesday.”

A native of Grenada, a product of Brooklyn, a student of hip-hop.

Last Night’s ‘Walking Dead’ Casualty Is All Smiles In Adorbs BTS Pics

by 6 mins ago

Who says living in the zombie apocalypse of “The Walking Dead” isn’t fun? Though death and dismemberment lay along every path, at least the actors on the show are having a good time – as this behind the scene picture from last night’s (October 26) episode clearly shows.

Spoilers beyond this point.

The Walking DeadGene Page/AMC

Yep, that’s good old Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) goofing off with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) mere moments after his half-eaten body was dropped off at Father Gabriel’s (Seth Gilliam) church.

It’s neat not just to see the usually dour cast cracking a smile, but also how they pulled off that impressive severed leg effect on Bob.

And Gilliard – despite his departure from the show – was all smiles, snapping selfies with cast-member Alanna Masterson, and hugging Martin-Green goodbye:

Daaaaw. Poor BobBQ, but we expect a bright future ahead for Gilliard. Perhaps he could star in “How I Meat Your Mother.”

24 Dogs With Better Halloween Costumes Than You

by 10 mins ago

The Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade is, obviously, NYC’s best day of the year. Masses of pet owners show up annually to show off their beloved canines dressed to the…well, nines. With all the pomp and Instagram-worthy moments, it’s kind of like Fashion Week meets the Thanksgiving parade—only better, because dogs.

This year was no exception. I saw everything from mermaids to pumpkins, Ewoks to tacos (like…at least three tacos). Take a look at some of the parade’s shining stars, and maybe take a step back to reevaluate your own Halloween costume? You might need to step up your game.

‘Interstellar’ Early Reviews Are In, But Are They Stellar?

by 52 mins ago

The first round of reviews for Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” have hit the web. The majority agrees that it’s a film of huge ambitions, but the crowd is split on how well the story’s complex thematic aspirations land.

Thankfully, most (if not all) of the reviews keep things nicely spoiler-free, so if you’re interested to hear what people are saying, click through to read the full write-ups of the review blurbed below.

The reviews below are entirely spoiler-free.

“Feeling very much like Christopher Nolan’s personal response to his favorite film, ’2001: A Space Odyssey,’ this grandly conceived and executed epic tries to give equal weight to intimate human emotions and speculation about the cosmos, with mixed results, but is never less than engrossing, and sometimes more than that.” — Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter

“An enormous undertaking that, like all the director’s best work, manages to feel handcrafted and intensely personal, ‘Interstellar’ reaffirms Nolan as the premier big-canvas storyteller of his generation, more than earning its place alongside ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ’2001,’ ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and ‘Gravity’ in the canon of Hollywood’s visionary sci-fi head trips.” — Scott Foundas, Variety

“There are so many frustrating flaws in this enormously cerebral, wonderfully hopeful and massively ambitious movie. If good intentions were enough to make a movie a masterpiece, ‘Interstellar’ would be the greatest work of Nolan’s career. That said, even with its many flaws, Interstellar is an often gorgeous, expertly put-together movie that demands to ...

Here’s Your First Look At Iggy Azalea’s Steven Madden Collaboration

by 10 mins ago

In August, Iggy Azalea announced that she was collaborating with Steve Madden for a collection that would drop in February. Well, Christmas Valentine’s Day has come early, because Iggy teased two of the shoes from the collection and they can be summed up in one word: Danggggggg.

While the shoes may be a little, um, high to wear in the middle of February—if you live in a climate that deals with that whole ~snow~ thing—they will definitely add a sparkly element to your footwear collection. I guess you could argue the lug sole would provide more traction than a normal high heel, but I’d still suggest you securing a cab or door-to-door car service.

Iggy shared a second pair—the same style, darker color—which she revealed are her “personal favorites.” She also announced that there will be 15 styles in total—so throw away all your other shoes to make room, OK?—and they’re all “fun and with a little sporty twist.”

She also promised she’d be sharing more throughout the upcoming months, which we will, obviously, be keeping a close eye on.

Watch Darth Vader Get Denied The Right To Vote In Ukraine

by 15 mins ago

It doesn’t seem like Darth Vader would care about the democratic process — the people of Alderaan never voted “yes” on a ballot measure to get blown up by the Death Star — but he has become the face of voter disenfranchisement in Ukraine…because he wouldn’t show his face.

Here in the U.S., voting rights are a major issue, especially as the November election approaches. Well, over in Kiev, a man formerly named Viktor Shevchenko — who’d filed to change his name to “Darth Vader” and attempted to run as a presidential candidate, promising that “a military space station will be built” — was turned away from the polls, because the law apparently forbids voting while masked. Here’s the video:

People dressed as Stormtroopers had accompanied Vader as he rolled up in a van blasting the “Imperial March.” He belongs to the Internet Party of Ukraine, which advocates for “electronic government against bureaucracy,” NBC reports.

“It’s sad,” Darth Vader told reporters after learning that his vote wouldn’t count. “The fact that I did not vote doesn’t mean that my empire will not win.”

In other words: Ukranian election officials, you underestimate the power of the Dark Side. And there’s a reason why he wears that helmet. Would you rather have him show up to vote like this?

‘The Walking Dead’: All The Awesome Moments Of Vengeance On ‘Four Walls And A Roof’

by 27 mins ago

After a cliffhanger ending last week, “The Walking Dead” returned with a vengeance Sunday night — in every sense of the word. With a herd of hungry Hunters on their tail, and with one of their party having already lost a drumstick in the worst possible way, there was no question that a showdown was coming between Rick Grimes and the scheming, man-eating Gareth.

Here’s everything that went down on “Four Walls and a Roof.”

He who tastes best laughs last
Poor, poor Bob Stookey: After waking up to discover that he’d been turned into human barbecue, he has to suffer the added agony of listening to Gareth monologuing, super-villain style, about the finer points of cannibal gourmandise. (If you’re wondering, women taste better than men, and attractive people taste better than ugly ones.) But Bob has a special surprise up his sleeve for his slavering kidnappers: a nice, festering zombie bite courtesy of last episode’s underwater walker.

Yep, that’s right, Hunters: Bob, by his own delighted description, is tainted meat. Tainted meeeeeeat!

The Hunters, who have been frantically eating Bob kebabs for the entirety of the show’s cold open, react to this news by theatrically screaming and blowing chunks all over the place, and it’s fantastic. Sasha’s face when she realizes that her sweetheart is about to die, on the other hand, is not so fantastic.

So that’s Gabriel’s big secret
People are watching from the woods, Daryl and Carol are still missing, and the survivors have just discovered the newly be-stumped Bob left ...

Watch ‘Reading Rainbow’ Host LeVar Burton Curse His Way Through A Hilarious Children’s Story

by 23 mins ago

It’s no surprise that over the years “Reading Rainbow” star LeVar Burton has picked up a few favorites in the children’s genre. But did anyone expect it would be the one titled “Go The F–k To Sleep,” like, at all?

The man responsible for turning hundreds of PBS-watching tots onto how and why reading is so FUN-damental (we couldn’t help ourselves there) explained as much to a room full of cross-legged adults and those watching video game production studio Rooster Teeth’s Internet stream in support of Extra Life.

“This is one of my favorite children’s stories,” Burton says in the video before diving in and causing a cacophony of giggles with the title of the Adam Mansbach cult favorite.

You should listen, revel in his “Captain Planet” t-shirt, but be forewarned — this is definitely not one for the kids (because spoiler alert: he drops the f-bomb. Like A LOT):

Extra Life, the annual event — a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for sick children — works with many outlets and video-game obsessives in order to raise funds and awareness for children’s charities. Burton’s reading of the aggressively worded story was a reward for viewers making $75,000 in donations.

Beyoncé Mourns The Tragic Loss Of Her Tour Photographer Yosra El-Essawy To Cancer

by 1 min ago

It is with a heavy heart that we must report that international photographer and documenter of Beyoncé’s Mrs. Carter World Tour — Yosra El-Essawy — has passed away at age 33 from cancer.

The Egyptian-born British photog was a staple on the tour, but also shot riveting images from the Egyptian revolution, in addition to weddings, events, and Beyoncé’s 2015 calendar. The news comes not even a year and a half following her diagnosis while on tour with Beyoncé. After being forced to leave the tour, El-Essawy kept fans updated of her progress on her Instagram account, and there was nary a shortage of optimism, either.

In honor of her friend’s struggle, the singer dedicated a performance of “Halo” to her during the tour last spring, in addition to creating a mini-documentary on El-Essawy’s passion.

Her passion for life and not taking for granted the beauty in the world was inspiring. On Saturday evening and Sunday morning, Beyoncé posted two photos in homage to her friend El-Essawy, the first being a nod to a post of El-Essawy’s from this summer:

Our thoughts go out to her family, friends, and loved ones during the tragic time.
