Seattle-Area High School Shooting Leaves At Least 2 Dead

by 19 mins ago

A shooting at Washington state’s Marysville-Pilchuck High School on Friday morning (October 24), has left at least 2 dead including the gunman, and up to four other students injured.

According to CNN, a student who fired off several rounds near the school’s cafeteria died after turning the gun on himself.

Marysville police spokesman Robert Lamoureux says police in the town north of Seattle “are confident that there is only one single shooter,” without giving further details on the injured students. But law enforcement sources told CNN that two people are dead and, of the four that have been wounded, one was serious and three were in critical condition.

The Marysville-Pilchuck High School is currently in lockdown due to an emergency situation,” the school district revealed in a statement. “Police and emergency services have responded. The Marysville School District lock down procedures will remain in effect at Pilchuck until further notice from law enforcement.”

More ‘Elf’ Is Coming, So It’s Time To Stock Up On Maple Syrup

by 35 mins ago

Do you love smiling? Would you say it’s your favorite thing? Well, grab your maple syrup and wait in front of the TV, because you’re really gonna like what’s coming to the small screen this holiday season.

NBC will air a new stop-motion animated musical Christmas special on December 16, titled “Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas.”

Yes, that elf. The very same oversized actually-a-human-but-don’t-tell-him-that elf, Buddy, that Will Ferrell portrayed in 2003′s “Elf.”

Ferrell won’t return to the special, which features nine songs, according to a release from the network. The lead elf honor this time around belongs to Jim Parsons, with additional voice cast support from Mark Hamill, Ed Asner, Fred Armisen, Jay Leno, Matt Lauer and Gilbert Gottfried. Among the songs included are “Happy All the Time,” “A Christmas Song” and “Nobody Cares About Santa Claus.”

We have a lot of feelings about this, naturally.

First, we were like…

Then we were like…

Because we love “Elf” almost as much as we love spaghetti and maple syrup.

Like, really. We love it.

We’ll miss Will Ferrell in those green tights, but inside, we can’t help but feel like this:

Can’t. Wait.

Beer for Breakfast? Meet Count Chocula Milk Stout

by 38 mins ago

If you happen to be in Fort Collins, Colorado, next weekend and get a hankering for a big bowl of Count Chocula (because Halloween, duh), but you can’t find it at the grocery store, try Black Bottle Brewery. Wait, what?

Yeah, the micro-brewery and brew pub about an hour from Denver has a lock on the ‘Choc this year thanks to brewmeister Sean Nook. He’s kind of cornered the market on the marshmallow-licious dessert cereal to make this year’s batch of his craft brewery’s Halloween-themed Cerealiously beer.

Totally weird, but in a good way
“I’m kind of a weirdo and I decided we should do a milk stout and put cereal in it,” Nook told MTV News. “We do different [cereal beers] all year long, like five to six times per year. I came up with this idea about a year ago after we did beers with Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats. We get criticized by beer purists and bloggers, but they’ve worked really well and killed it out of the gate.”

Nook, 34, brewed about eight barrels of the Chocula stout, which is only available on tap at his brew pub. But as word has spread, he’s gotten offers from Russia, England and distributors in almost every state in the country to buy some of his signature brew.

“I don’t want to be a one-hit wonder and sell out,” he said, adding that the Chocula is the fastest moving cereal beer he makes. In fact, while ...

Chris Brown Still Has To Complete A Ton Of Community Service Hours

by 6 mins ago

Chris Brown is still logging community service hours to complete probation in his Rihanna assault case, and it looks like those hours could make it difficult to keeep up with his busy schedule, including a planned fall tour with Trey Songz.

Breezy was back in court in Los Angeles on Thursday for a progress report, and according to TMZ his community labor sessions were increased to four days a week, for approximately eight hours a day, so that he could finish up by January.

The judge Mark reprimanded him for violating his probation by getting a speeding ticket, and amazingly enough, even TMZ felt bad for him, for once, suggesting the court should cut Breezy a break. Maybe, TMZ head Harvey Levin didn’t like being called a “devil” who was out to “destroy” him.

Chris Brown announced that he and Trey Songz would be hitting the road together this fall, which means that he’ll probably be juggling a heavy rehearsal schedule, along with those community service hours. He’s also set to perform at the Soul Train Awards on November 7.

Last month Breezy explained to MTV News’ Sway Calloway that he’s also been attending regular therapy sessions for treatment. Hear him explain it in the video below.

‘Bayonetta 2′: What You Need To Know About Nintendo’s Hair-Fighting Game

by 4 mins ago

It’s been 4 long years since Platinum Games first heated up consoles with a brash and beautiful new action game titled “Bayonetta.” Set as a kinda-sorta spiritual successor to the “Devil May Cry” series, it blasted into the hearts of brawler fans and quickly became a cult hit.

And now SEGA is bringing the franchise back for a sequel on the Wii U. So does “Bayonetta 2″ live up to the hype? Should you pick up a Wii U for it? Yes, and yes! Here’s why.

Who Is Bayonetta?

Bayonetta 2Platinum Games

So what or who, exactly, is a Bayonetta? Well, she’s a powerful witch born into a war between heaven and hell who uses her fighting prowess to beat the tar out of anyone or anything that gets in her way. Also, her hair is used both as a way to summon mythical creatures and spells and doubles as her outfit. ALSO! She has a wicked pair of high heels that hosts a pair of pistols for maximum slaying! Got it? No? It doesn’t matter because you’ll be having too much fun to care.

Bewitching Battles
Punching out combos to whip baddies into submission is the name of the game. As you navigate the world, you’ll encounter enemies you’ll need to pummel the opposition to progress. Fortunately, Bayonetta is a beast at fighting. She has a vast repertoire of attacks and weapons and can purchase more by earning currency in the form of halos and demonic gems. Executing attacks ...

How To Dress Like 2014 For Halloween

by 10 mins ago

Halloween costumes come in three flavors: Scary, sexy, and topical.

Want to scare folks? Slap some fake blood on a monster mask. Want to look sexy? Pick a profession and show your midriff. But topical costumes take work. They have to be relevant, recognizable, and — above all — FUNNY. Otherwise, you’re left trying to explain why you’ve shown up to the party in an “Austin Powers” costume for the 17th straight year — or trying to explain why you chose to offend everybody there and possibly everybody on the internet.

Heidi Montag Expresses Empathy For Renée Zellweger

by 33 mins ago

In 2010, as part of what seemed like a quest to become a flesh-and-blood Barbie, Heidi Montag underwent multiple concurrent plastic surgeries and shocked friends and family with her drastic transformation. Heidi said initial scrutiny left her feeling isolated, but now, having reflected on her choices, she’s using her experiences to lend support to others.

Last night, Heidi appeared on “Extra!,” and when she was asked about Renée Zellweger‘s seemingly altered face, the former “Hills” star offered nothing but understanding.

“I don’t know if Renée Zellweger just aged like she said but, for me, when I see people look totally different, I have an empathy,” she explained. “I feel like I know why — at least why I did it — and it brings me back to that time in my life, and I feel for them.”

Ultimately, Heidi concluded, self-acceptance is key, and she hopes anyone who chooses to get plastic surgery does so for the right reasons.

“My heart kind of goes out to them to think, ‘Well, why did you do that?’ and ‘Are you happy with it?’” she said. “It’s a hard, life-changing decision. When anyone does that, then obviously they’re unhappy with something. So I hope that they found their happiness.”

What do you think of Heidi’s assumption? Watch the full interview and share your thoughts.
