Listen To Dillon Francis’ Entire New Album Here

by 1 min ago

Looking to have a quiet night in, all huddled up in a blanket burrito sipping a cup of Earl Grey? Then do not listen to Dillon Francis’ new album, Money Sucks, Friends Rule. Seriously, this set of 12 bangers is pretty much the antithesis of getting lost in your duvet.

The LP won’t see its official release until October 27, but you can stream it right now, in full, at DillonFrancis.MTV.com.

The music producer’s debut full-length album is also as packed with features as it is beats, boasting cameos from Twista, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco (“Love In The Middle Of A Firefight”) and Major Lazer — and that’s literally only, like, half of them.

Burn your blankets now.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.

Michael Sam Will No Longer Play For The Dallas Cowboys

by 20 mins ago

Michael Sam, the first openly gay football player to be drafted into the NFL, has been waived from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad.

The 24-year-old athlete’s release on Tuesday (October 21) comes with the return of several previously injured players, DeMarcus Lawrence among them. The second-round draft pick has recovered from a broken foot sustained earlier this season and will be eligible to play starting November 2.

Sam took to Twitter to give thanks to his friends, family, fans and former teammates, and to express his unwavering hope that he will find another team.

The defensive end was drafted back in May as a seventh-round pick for the St. Louis Rams. However, he was removed from the team’s roster several months later, beaten out by rookie Ethan Westbrooks in the final round of cuts.

Four days after that setback, the unclaimed player was signed onto the Cowboy’s practice quad, much to the delight of Texas native Demi Lovato.

“We just want to give him a chance to come in and help our football team,” coach Jason Garrett has said with the pick. “That’s where our attention is (football). What people say outside the organization is up to them.”

Michael Sam remains a free agent.

Here’s What It’s Like To Have Shia LaBeouf Grab Your Butt

by 1 min ago

Months after Shia LaBeouf’s bizarre arrest at a Broadway show, we’re finally hearing more of the details of the night.

LaBeouf is accused to causing quite a scene at a late June performance of Broadway’s “Cabaret” at Studio 54, starring Allen Cumming and Michelle Williams. He reportedly drunkenly smoked a cigarette in the audience of the theater and then was escorted from the show and placed under arrest after grabbing Cumming’s rear mid-performance.

Which, if it wasn’t already clear, is not part of the price of admission to the show.

Cumming himself explained the incident to Conan O’Brien last night (October 20) on “Conan.” Apparently, when there’s a super drunk dude in your theater, you can feel it, even if you’re busy doing a song and dance number channeling a German club emcee.

“He was really messed up, obviously,” Cumming said. “He was just wasted, and he was wasted from the second he walked into the thing.”

“We’ve all done things where we’ve been out of it and messed up,” Cumming conceded.

13 Terrifying Movie Scenes That Happen In Bed

by 4 mins ago

In a world that can be cruel, random and unjust, bed is one of the few objective goods. There’s literally nothing bad about bed. It’s something that was invented with the sole purpose of being comfortable.

But I digress.

Of course, the inherent goodness of bed makes it the perfect target for horror movies, which have always sought out everyday things to inject horror into. (For an upcoming example, look no further than MTV’s “The Dorm,” premiering on October 26 at 8 p.m. ET.)

This being the case, let’s take a look back at some terrifying sequences that tried to ruin bed forever.

1. “Nightmare on Elm Street”

Not only does Freddy Krueger try to destroy bed, but he also make everyone afraid of naps, which is a major d–k move.

2. “The Exorcist”

On one hand, Regan’s bed is even comfier after her possession, due to the extra padding. On the other, the devil’s inside her.

3. “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”

This little-seen Guillermo del Toro production managed to make sheets scary with a single trailer.

4. “Paranormal Activity”

Most of the first movie is about bad stuff happening while you sleep. Not cool.

5. “Poltergeist”

You’ve probably repressed most of Tobe Hooper’s PG nightmare-a-thon, but whoops. Now you’re scared of anthropomorphized clown dolls coming to kill you.

6. “Mama”

This is why it’s best to get bed frames that don’t have any space under them. Yes, because of Mama.

7. “Insidious”

Oh, what’s that outside? Nope, now it’s inside and interrupting what would have been a solid eight hours ...

Sorry, Taylor Swift And ‘Welcome To New York,’ But These NYC Songs Got Here First

by 4 mins ago

Sometimes, it seems like all songs can be sorted into one of four buckets: songs about love and heartbreak, songs about going out dancing with your girls, songs about booties, and songs about New York City.

The Big Apple has long held the attention of musicians, from Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind,” to the so-new-we-haven’t-had-a-chance-to-learn-the-words-yet “Welcome to New York” by Taylor Swift. Swift’s new song, off of her upcoming 1989 album, makes us wish that we had a binder to scratch lyrics into, and will doubtlessly inspire cryptic Facebook statuses and artsy, Pinterest-bait tattoos.

Every New Yorker has their own favorite song about the city. In honor of Swift’s contribution to the genre and the recent anniversary of “Empire State of Mind,” MTV News staffers shared the tracks nearest and dearest to their hearts.

Chance The Rapper Announces Two New Projects

by 9 mins ago

It’s been a year and a half since Chance the Rapper dropped his most recent mixtape, Acid Rap. In the time since, he’s gained fans, toured the world, dropped guest verses — and left listeners itching for more.

Now, finally, we know a little bit about when we’ll get it: Before the end of the year. The project, Surf, is not a solo Chance project, though; it’ll be an album from him and his band, The Social Experiment.

“We’re working really closely with Francis Starlite from Francis and the Lights. He’s been a really been a big help on Surf,” Chano told Billboard. “Damn, I’m saying these things like people know it. Surf is the first project, which is coming out before the end of 2014. It’s the first Social Experiment project. It’s a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico [Segal, a.k.a Donnie Trumpet] hold the reigns and carry it. There’s a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers. I’m already saying too much.”

He and the band have been in the studio heavy of late, and not just with each other. They’ve been collaborating with some notable musicians, as well.

“We worked with Migos,” he added. “We worked with J. Cole. We did some work with Emily King just last week. Somebody who helped us out a lot with just getting into the project was Rick Rubin. And Frank Ocean. There’s been a lot of just ...

by 17 mins ago

DJ Khaled was hospitalized in Miami on Monday night — and it looks like he might be Suffering From Success again.

Khaled took a selfie in a Miami hospital (that he later deleted) and in the caption he hinted that exhaustion, or some other form of overexertion, might’ve landed him there.

“I promise I’m going on vacation..I already booked my travel..Going rest and vibe and win more!” he wrote. “@wethebestmusic thank u to all my friends and fam checking in real talk thank u luv! Bless up!”

khaled

We’re wishing Khaled a speedy recovery.

If you’ll recall, he had a similar problem late in November, 2013, when he was hospitalized for dehydration. He shared a similar photo from the hospital, and advised his fellow hustlers to take care of themselves.

“I really didn’t want take this pic but this a message to all the hustlers I know we got hustle hard! But we have to take care of our self!” he wrote at the time. “We can’t let the hustle stress us. I told the [doctor] I have a family and team that rely on me that’s why I hustle so hard! He told me the only friend u have is your self so take care of your self!”
