In Palos Hills, Lacey Hamilton is happy to play housewife so long as there’s a roof above her head, but actress Nikki Deloach, who plays the “Awkward” character, is still angling to break through the glass ceiling.

Deloach, who has a background in music and TV, spoke out on closing the Hollywood gender gap at the recent iWe Summit in Los Angeles. And in an interview with WhoSay, she urged female entertainers to keep fighting for roles and positions that they deserve.

“As an actress, writer or producer, it is a struggle sometimes — in a very male-dominated industry — to be heard or to get others to see your value,” she said, noting that only seven percent of Tinseltown directors are women. “It has really taught me to own my worth. If you don’t know your value, no one else will. As hard as it is, you can’t get bitter or defeated — you just have to keep doing you.”

Deloach told the site she was heartened by how many more women are directing “Awkward” episodes now than in seasons past but said there is still a considerable journey ahead for ladies in the industry. She also urged girls who dream of being the next Meryl Streep to maintain absolute sureness in themselves.

It turns out that the primate revolution will look a lot less like “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” and will look a lot more like “Kramer vs. Kramer.”

A landmark case was heard to determine whether or not chimpanzees have essentially the same rights as human beings.

The court case centers around Tommy, a 26-year-old chimpanzee who lives behind a trailer park in upstate New York. His living conditions, to a group called the Nonhuman Rights Project, are absolutely inhumane, as he lives in a small cage all by himself in a warehouse. The NhRP sued on behalf of Tommy, who they believed was being kept as a prisoner against his will.

If the NhRP win, Tommy would be granted “personhood.” This does not mean that all of a sudden Tommy would be human, nor does it mean he’d become a Caesar-like hyper-intelligent ape who could ride a horse and talk in a really deep voice, but he would have some of the legal protections and rights that humans enjoy, and would be released from his captivity.

Tommy, though, would not be the first animal to gain that status, as India granted dolphins similar rights last year, as “non-human persons.”

Even if the NhRP lose this case, they plan on taking it next to the New York Court of Appeals, the highest court in the state.

The people have spoken, and “American Horror Story: Freak Show“‘s Twisty is the talk of the town. The kids just can’t get enough of ol’ Twisty!

Luckily, this preview for next Wednesday’s episode “Massacres and Matinees” lets us know straight away that John Caroll Lynch’s stabby clown isn’t going away anytime soon. In fact, it looks like Frances Conroy’s character Gloria Mott will try to hire him to please her petulant son Dandy (Finn Wittrock), which will surely be a spectacular performance to behold.

Meanwhile, Angela Bassett’s three-breasted woman and Michael Chiklis’ strong man finally arrive, which should add even more flavor to the already colorful “Freak Show.” Check out the preview below!

If you thought that there could be no worse “Titanic“-related atrocity than the moment at which Rose, who could have totally made some room on that door for her waterlogged true love, let his frozen, lifeless body slip away into the depths of the Atlantic, then we’re sorry to report that you had better brace yourself for the movie’s alternate ending, which has finally made its way onto YouTube.

Because it is worse. It is so, so much worse.

This scene was apparently available as an extra on the “Titanic” DVD which came out in 2005, but the internet has only just become aware of it, to the internet’s great dismay. In it, the elderly Rose is confronted by Bill Paxton and his band of bros just as she’s about to drop the Heart of the Ocean into its watery grave — thus giving her a chance to blow his mind with some hardcore grandma wisdom about the value of a life being measured in experience, not multi-million-dollar diamond necklaces. (Conspicuously missing: A followup scene in which Bill explains this life lesson to whomever funded his very expensive excursion into the icy depths of the Titanic wreckage in a submarine with robot arms.)

No matter how much the original ending of “Titanic” broke our hearts, you won’t catch us complaining about it again. Watch the alternate ending below and tell us if you agree:

It’s coming. It has to be. No I.D. has been hard at work in the studio with Jay Z and Jay Electronica — and although none of them have commented on where that music will end up — it’s looking like some of it might be for Jay Elect’s long awaited album.

In a recent Instagram post, Dion shared a video of Jay Electronica vibing out to a new beat. The New Orleans rapper looked like he was mouthing along some potential lyrics to the beat, giving us hope that this could be a taste of his upcoming project.

He recently explained that he has plenty of material banked, but he’s simply not ready to churn out a final product yet.

“[Jay's] very involved, and we’ve got a good relationship,” he told MTV News. “The greatest thing that he’s done with me, is that he’s been very patient with me — just letting me do me, and take my time. He’s got the music, but I’ve still gotta get to a point where I’m comfortable with it, because at the end of the day it’s me coming.”

While maybe/maybe not boyfriend Justin Bieber stayed busy searching for the perfect pasta dish in Italy with his dad, Selena Gomez spent Wednesday putting some smiles on the faces of sick kids.

“Rudderless” star Gomez, 22, visited Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and posted some pictures with her biggest fans, including one cutie she dubbed “princess.”

“Selena took the time to stop and visit with each one, hear their stories, give hugs, share laughs and provide encouragement,” the hospital told E! News in a statement. “It was a much-needed lift for these children and their families during an incredibly difficult time.”

While she was there, Gomez put on a “Team Connor” bracelet in honor of one of the hospitalized children and the hospital totally appreciated her visit.
