Ellen DeGeneres and Ice Cube battled it out on Monday (October 6), but there were no raps involved. Instead, they challenged one another to see who had the best pick-up lines in an icebreaker challenge on the comedian’s daytime show.

Standing in front of a makeshift bar, Ellen kicked things off with, “Come here often?” Cube, unimpressed, was left asking, “That’s it?” The challenge was clearly on.

Cube, who was on the show promoting the October 17 release of the upcoming animated film, “The Book of Life”, and Ellen somehow managed to hold their composure. “Are you from Memphis?” Cube asked Ellen. “‘Cause you’re the only ten I see.” Ellen struck back at Cube with a classic: “You with all those curves and me no brakes.”

Eventually, DeGeneres took home the win, uttering “I think I need a library card ‘cause I’m gonna check you out” moments before the timer ran out.

Along with “The Book of Life,” in which he voices Candle Maker alongside Channing Tatum and Zoe Saldana, Cube has also been working on “Straight Outta Compton”, an N.W.A biopic. Besides movies, he’s also prepping for the October 21 release of his next album, Everythang’s Corrupt.

Breakups can be painful. Amber Rose understands.

Rose, who recently filed for divorce from her husband of over a year, Wiz Khalifa, shared what appears to be some of that breakup pain on Monday (October 6), posting some heartbreaking words on Twitter.

We’re not sure if these tweets are about the “We Dem Boyz” rapper, but it’s hard not to make assumptions. Amber and Wiz have had a rough few weeks since publicly confirming their breakup. Recently, Rose accused Khalifa of cheating, and rumors have also swirled regarding her own romantic life.

While Amber might be feeling the pain, she’s still working. The model is scheduled to host her birthday bash at Pure Lounge in Sunnyvale, California on October 24.

A teenager suspected of leaving his home to join foreign terrorist group ISIS was arrested in Chicago over the weekend.

CNN reports that federal agents arrested 19-year-old Mohammed Hamzah Khan at O’Hare International Airport on Saturday (October 4). The young man had just crossed security when he was stopped.

Court documents reveal that he was carrying a notebook with detailed travel plans, a round-trip ticket to Istanbul, Turkey (by way of Vienna, Austria) and a map of the Turkey-Syria border at the time of his arrest.

Authorities executed a warranted search of Khan’s family home in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, Illinois. They found what CNN describes as “documents expressing support for ISIS and jihadists,” as well as a three-page letter that he left for his family, urging them to join him in the Islamic State.

The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, or ISIS, is the name of an extremist organization that operates roughly inside the borders of Iraq and Syria. It is also the name of the unrecognized state the group hopes to establish. ISIS is also referred to as ISIL (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) as well as just the Islamic State.

Khan has been charged with one count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. On Monday (October 6), he appeared in court. If convicted, he will face a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison plus a $250k fine.

Talk about déjà vu: The season premiere of “Are You the One?” featured a Chris and Shanley-type connection as yet another couple instantaneously clicked.

Shortly after introductions among the 21 singles, Paris and Pratt experienced an immediate spark, even bonding over their mutual admiration for corny jokes. They fell for each other fast — and hard.

Jaden Smith continued his viral music campaign with the release of his new music video for “Fast” on Monday (October 6).

In the clip, which runs just over a minute, the “Trophy V6″ MC wilds out in an oversize hoodie and no pants in a parking garage and nearby alley, spitting furiously about why his girl chooses to drive like Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

“Battle me that’s your fatality, actually I’m a catastrophe/ Go to your school and they ask for me/ I’m in your class making cash and we fruity like passion is burning like ashes/ We had to just make this ish happen, he rappin’ again, he snappin’ again,” he raps.

After announcing the video on Twitter, Jaden made sure to tag his onetime (and maybe current?) girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, with the “#FAST” hashtag, fueling rumors that it’s either about or for the young lady.

With Jaden’s constant onslaught of surprise music lately, look for The Cool Cafe: Cool Tape Vol. 2 to drop sooner than later.

Despite her busy schedule, Ariana Grande still takes time to play hide-and-go-seek. Sometimes with Ellen DeGeneres. Sometimes in Ellen DeGeneres’ bushes. Wait, what?

On Monday (October 6), the “Love Me Harder” singer played “Who’s In My Bushes?!” on “The Ellen Show,” where an audience member named Maddy had to guess which celebrity was hiding behind a wall of hedges.

Some of the hints Ariana gave (like, “I only wear Ellen DeGeneres’ panties”) weren’t so helpful. But after a softball question (“Is your last name a drink at Starbucks?”), Maddy figured out that it was Grande back there. Watch the clip below.

Justin Bieber is vacationing in Italy right now, and he just wants some peace, quiet and Fettuccine Alfredo.

That seems to be the message behind the video he Instagrammed on Monday (October 6). “Italy was pretty awesome, could find me in your city next,” the “Confident” singer wrote in the caption.

He followed that message with a series of hashtags: “#imatourist #nowork #sightseeing #fettucciniAlfredo #imthatguywithafannypack #ifuseemeletmeenjoymyvisit #illbebackfortouripromise”

Huh? Let’s rewind back to that second to last hashtag: If you see me, let me enjoy my visit. Guess even Bieber needs a break from all that Bieber-mania every now and then.

That’s pretty understandable, seeing as how dangerous the paparazzi have acted toward him in the past. And to be fair, his more, um, dedicated fans might interfere with his relaxation M.O.

After warming us up with the excellent trailer for The Album About Nothing, Wale has us even more excited for his new disc with the second episode of his vlog series.

Splicing together clips from recent radio interviews with in-studio and concert footage, Ralph gives fans a brief glimpse into his process and what they can expect in the future — all soundtracked by “The Followers,” his potent track from this past summer.

“I can’t say the people; I gotta say the core,” he says during one interview stop when discussing the upcoming project. “Ambition was for the people; The Gifted was for me; this is for the core. This is A&Red by my fans.”

That fits with what he told MTV News in April, when he dropped a few details about the project.

“I’ve spent some good time with Jerry [Seinfeld] and we’re gonna keep building on it,” he said (Seinfeld, by the way, appears in the new vlog). “I wanna make it super incredible and super honest and I’m really putting the fans first on this one.
