Meet The Cast And Characters Of The Most Magical Place On MTV: ‘Happyland’

by 24 mins ago

Contrary to popular belief, life at a theme park isn’t chockfull of glittering fairy dust and perma-smiling princesses, as evidenced on the new MTV series “Happyland.” Toss in a mysterious, life-changing scandal, and Happyland may as well change its theme-park moniker to Downright-Intriguing Land.

A likely lifer at Happyland, Lucy’s mother Elena is perfectly content playing the part of Happyland’s resident royal, the forever-young Princess Adriana. Less like a single mom and more like Lucy’s best friend, the MILF-y Elena maintains her enchanted facade of secrets — namely, the mysterious identity of Lucy’s real father.

Camille starred in the Disney Channel original movie “Gotta Kick It Up!” and has had recurring roles on “Prison Break” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

The ambitious daughter of a single mom whose career includes ball gowns and glass slippers, Lucy is so over living the theme-park life and longs to explore the world outside of Happyland’s bubble. When the park’s wealthy owners arrive, bringing with them Happyland’s handsome teenage heir, Lucy’s real-world plans are cast aside. And that’s only the beginning…

In addition to “Happyland,” Bianca stars in ABC Family’s “

Danity Kane Announce Post Break-Up Album, Fans Can’t Stop Crying

by 31 mins ago

Big Danity Kane news! No, they are not getting back together (sad face), but they are releasing that brand-new album we waited desperately for ever since they announced their comeback.

That’s right, Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex announced that their new album, DK3, will be hitting stores October 28.

“What’s up, DK fans. I just want to let you know that I love you and miss you so much, and because you guys never gave up on us, Shannon and I haven’t given up on you,” Aubrey says in an Instagram video before Shannon adds the album release date. The album goes up for pre-sale Friday at midnight.

DK fans clearly noticed that Dawn Richard was missing from the video. Dawn and Aubrey reportedly got into a physical altercation after she supposedly found out that Aubrey and Shannon had recorded songs behind her back. Aubrey filed a battery report against Dawn, and several days later announced the bands demise claiming that an “ethical and moral line has been crossed.”

Dawn has yet to comment on the album, but that doesn’t mean the fans haven’t been full on freaking out and shedding a lot of tears over the news.

The DK3 album has been in the works for quite some time. After reuniting at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, the group released their lead single, “Lemonade,” and embarked on the No Filter tour back in May. Before they hit the road, member Aundrea Fimbres ...

Calvin Harris Reveals The Release Date Of His Fourth Album

by 1 min ago

Summer’s gone, and Calvin Harris announced that he will release his fourth album Motion when the leaves are already brown: November 4.

The follow-up to the electronic music producer/singer-songwriter’s 18 Months drops two years (or 24 months) later. He teased to the news on Wednesday:

Harris’ schedule has been hectic the past couple of weeks with touring, hanging out with models in his music video for his song “Blame” featuring John Newman and joining the roster for an epic music festival in the Bermuda Triangle on Halloween weekend.

Crossing my fingers that he doesn’t mysteriously disappear while dropping bass lines in the tropical locale. It would be shame if he missed out on his album release.

‘Branson Famous’ Is A Musical Reality Show, And We Can’t Effing Wait To Watch It

by 8 mins ago

Well, this is something new.

Branson Famous,” the first musical reality TV show that we know of, will come to TruTV this December.

Musical.

Reality.

TV.

“Branson Famous” is about a struggling family-run revue show in the tourist town of Branson, Missouri. There are familial dramas galore in this tale of a small business just trying to break even. There’s the little sister who wants to be a star but is relegated to the gift shop! The aging dancer who just wants him to put a ring on it! The man who just wants to modernize the darned thing already!

There’s so much big hair, sequined outfits and high hopes that we can hardly stand it. The anticipation! The decorative fringe!

As if that wasn’t enough, the show promises improvised musical talking head confessions. This. Sounds. Amazing.

it’s almost too much to handle, which means we’re already setting our DVRs. Countdown to someone scream-singing “I’m not here to make friends” starts…now.

Lil Wayne’s Ex Nivea Shares Her Feelings On Christina Milian

by 26 mins ago

Christina Milian hasn’t publicly admitted that she’s dating Lil Wayne, but the cat’s pretty much out of the bag at this point. And apparently, everyone in the Carter clan isn’t too thrilled about this new relationship.

In a new interview with Malcom Music, Nivea — who was briefly engaged to Wayne and later had a child with him — confirmed the news, and explained that there was a family discussion about the issue.

A little more background on this story: Both Nivea and Christina Milian were previously married to The-Dream, so she and Christian Milian have, er, a lot…in common.

According to Nivea, Weezy knows better than to bring Christina Milian to family functions, and the rest, you can hear for yourself in the video above.

A native of Grenada, a product of Brooklyn, a student of hip-hop.

#TBT: Remember When Kristin Cavallari Played A Lesbian Cheerleader On ‘Veronica Mars’?

by 5 mins ago

The painfully honest Kristin Cavallari was called every name in the book while attending Laguna Beach High School, but it’s not until she took a trip to the fictional town of Neptune that she got the distinguished honor of “horrible, crazy bitch.”

VeronicaKristin2

The “Hills” star, who caught a small-scale acting bug before her current shoe designer/TV host duties, once appeared on “Veronica Mars” (which, incidentally, premiered 10 years ago!) as a lesbian cheerleader caught up in an extortion scheme. And suddenly, prom drama looks totally manageable by comparison…

VeronicaKristin1

On an episode called “Versatile Toppings,” our very own K-Cav played an in-the-closet pom pom-tosser/student news correspondent named Kylie Marker, who begged amateur teen detective Veronica Mars for help in keeping her sexual identity private. Kylie explained that an anonymous web-hacker had weaseled his way into a gay teen support message board and threatened to out all the local gay students if they didn’t pay him a hefty ransom.

VeronicaKristin3

Determined to rise above the hacker’s cowardly bullying — and keep her cash in her pocket — Kristin/Kylie decided to come clean about her sexuality on a school-wide broadcast, and she and girlfriend Marlena were suddenly free to walk the halls hand-in-hand. Still, Veronica’s case kept running cold, and the hacker remained at large.

VeronicaKristin4

Finally, after some expert sleuthing, Veronica discovered it was Kylie, herself, who was extorting her fellow LGBTQ students (!!!), and Kylie’s unapologetic ...

New ‘Big Hero 6′ Trailer Is Huggable, Non-Threatening, Awesome

by 21 mins ago

We’re just gonna pre-order that full-size Baymax stuffed toy right now, OK? OK.

A new trailer for Disney’s “Big Hero 6″ zoomed onto the web today, and boy is it huggable. The movie’s previous trailer was also straight-up adorable, but now we have adorable with a healthy portion of backstory and plot as well.

See, Hiro’s big brother, Tadashi, died. Before his death, however, he invented Baymax — a big cuddly robot to help those who need helping — who is also great at waddling around being adorable, and making us love him. The whole “Avengers” vibe and Iron Man suit — while upping the cuteness factor by several thousand — comes along later.

For now, just check out the trailer above and get (more) psyched.

“Big hero 6″ comes to theaters November 7, 2014.

Chris Hemsworth Trades Lightning For Hacking In ‘Blackhat’ Trailer

by 23 mins ago

As good as he is as the god of thunder, Chris Hemsworth hasn’t really found his place in Hollywood outside of the “Thor” movies. But for his next non-Marvel film, he’s getting help from one of the all-time great directors.

Michael Mann returns after almost six years away from feature films with “Blackhat,” a cyber thriller that casts Hemsworth as the buffest MIT grad of all time.

The movie has a familiar set-up: after a serious hack, the government turns to an imprisoned hacker (Hemsworth) for help catching the mad man behind everything.

I’m rooting for both Mann and Hemsworth on this one, since they could both use the win. We’ll find out for sure in January, when “Blackhat” hits theaters.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.

6 Reasons Why ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Is Our Fall TV Obsession

by 12 mins ago

For three years now, ABC’s Thursday night line-up has been dominated by one woman: “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes. Rhimes has become famous for creating groundbreaking television shows featuring complex, dynamic, and uncharacteristically (for network television, anyway) sexually liberated female characters. The latest creation from ShondaLand, “How to Get Away With Murder,” is no different.

“Murder” — which was created by ShondaLand writer Peter Nowalk and is executive produced by Rhimes — will take up the third, 10 p.m. hour of the “Shonda Thursdays” line-up, and after screening the show’s pilot, we’re happy to announce that it definitely lives up to the mountains of hype. Yep, “Murder” should definitely be the talk of the water-cooler town on Friday morning, largely due to these six factors:

1. Its intriguing, morally ambiguous anti-heroine.

how_to_get_away_with_murderABC

One thing “Murder” does right is let us know straight off the bat that Viola Davis’ Professor Annalise Keating is no “Saint Alicia” Florrick of “The Good Wife.” (Not that I’m talking smack on Alicia because I would never, ever do that.) Cable shows in particular have been introducing us to fascinating (mostly male) anti-heroes for years, and Rhimes’ latest creation stars a woman who literally has no qualms with admitting to the fact that she lets guilty people off the hook for a living.

This isn’t necessarily the number one way to endear yourself to an audience, and the fact that Keating engages in some unsavory extracurricular activities (more on those in a second) doesn’t help, ...
