In the words of the great Lindsay Lohan, “I’m sick of rumors starting.” And much like Lohan sang in her debut 2004 single, Kylie Jenner feels the same way.

So, is Jenner trying to get a pop music career off the ground like LiLo once did, or are these just more rumors swirling around the Internet? (At least we can stop talking about her lips now.) According to a “close friend” quoted on RadarOnline, Kylie’s trying to become “the next Katy Perry.”

But if you ask the youngest Jenner, however, she is doing no such thing. “I respect everyone’s art! but I don’t want to be the next anybody. I just want to be the next Kylie Jenner,” she tweeted on Friday (September 19).

So, if you were counting on a second Katy Perry, you should probably put that dream to bed. Kylie’s just bein’ Kylie.

This bizarre video made it’s way into our morning pitch meeting today:

Everyone in the room laughed, but much of it might’ve been nervous laughter. The numb faces onscreen combined with their mechanical laughter makes them look like a bunch of Billy the Puppets from “Saw.”

It didn’t sit well with me. How are they doing that? Are these people psychopaths or can anyone look that creepy? In an attempt to exorcise the video from my head, I asked our team to try it for themselves. If my my work pals can do it, maybe it wouldn’t seem so weird anymore.

Below are the MTV Newsies who tried it, including myself, to varying degrees of success. It feels really odd to force yourself to laugh while also trying not to smile. It’s even odder to watch your coworkers look that creepy. Now, I’m still left with that same lingering uncomfortable feeling. The only difference is I’m surrounded by these faces everyday. Crap. And something is drawing me to watch myself do it again in the mirror. Damn, I’m creepy. Double crap.

In Nick Jonas‘ new single “Jealous,” the singer reveals a few things that get him “red in the face.” While the lyrics were written for girlfriend Olivia Culpo (or, more specifically,the guys ogling her), we learned a flatulent fan of Demi Lovato‘s also has him feeling a tad resentful.

“I heard about that,” Nick told MTV News when asked if he’d seen his good friend’s tweet about a gassy meet-and-greet she recently had. “I was going to write her and ask her what happened because that’s probably the best news story I’ve heard about Demi in a long time. Just the fact that that’s news is unbelievable to me.”

While Nick has never been in this particular situation in the past, he isn’t ruling out the idea of recreating the moment with a special someone in the future.

“I can honestly say that getting farted on is, like, is a privilege that I’ve not had with a fan,” he said jokingly. “Maybe someday down the road I’ll get to that point.”

Every year when Halloween rolls around, we’re always on the lookout for the new, never-before-seen costumes. So, we peeped some pieces that just dropped on our go-to Halloween sites, and the results were, um, very interesting.

One costume that was particularly mind-boggling? This “Sexy DJ” ensemble. The description reads, “Get the party pumping in Yandy’s limited edition, two-piece Sexy DJ costume featuring a white, racer back crop top with a glittery front pocket that holds your cell phone and a metallic silver mini skirt with a record table front. (Light-up hat, cellphone, and headphones not included.)” So, basically, for nearly $80, you get a sports bra with a pocket and skirt that may cover your butt. No guarantees. And you’ll have to shell out another $69 bucks for that light-up “Animal DJ Hood.”

So, yea. This is a thing that exists. A few questions before we let you go with this information, though. In what universe are Deadmau5‘s turntables attached him? In what setting is Deadmau5 so lo-fi that he just uses an iPhone/iPod? What kind of shoes and/or coat do you wear with this? Remember, it gets cold on All Hallow’s Eve.

Former Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso are officially releasing their debut album as the newest members of the Def Jam family, the record label announced Friday (September 19).

“We are proud at Def Jam to have Axwell / Ingrosso choose us to be their label home. Their music is forward, innovative, invigorating and boundless,” Steve Bartels (CEO of Def Jam Recordings) said. “Def Jam has the artistry and energy of DJ culture within its pedigree, right there in our logo. This is a significant moment for all of us as at Def Jam.”

Despite their many successes as SHM, the supergroup never released an official album, so this 2015 release is a significant one for the DJ/producing duo. Fans have had a taste of what Axwell and Ingrosso can do together from their joint residency in Ibiza and the snippet of their premiere single “This Time We Can’t Go Home,” and the demand for more is higher than ever. With Def Jam on their side, their debut album is already off to a running start.

Congrats to Def Jam and to Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. While the guys are hard at work on an international tour, keep an eye out for any other music drops in 2014, and hold yourself over in the meantime with “This Time We Can’t Go Home.”

Sometimes even friends get grumpy with one another. It’s OK. Just ask Hollywood bros Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza.

The two actresses, known for their deadpan delivery and sassy tweets, exchanged words both sassy and deadpan via Twitter yesterday in regards to Plaza’s casting as the voice of Grumpy Cat.

In case you missed it, yes, there’s going to be a Lifetime TV movie about Grumpy Cat‘s rise to pissed-off prominence, and Plaza will provide the central kitty’s voice.

James Franco doesn’t shy away from challenging material, as both an actor and director. First, he adapted William Faulkner’s, “As I Lay Dying” for the big screen, a book many people felt was unfilmable. Now, he’s focused his talents on another Faulkner work, “The Sound and the Fury,” which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The movie offers many different obstacles for Franco, but the biggest might have been the mentally handicapped character of Benjy, which Franco takes on for the movie. But, as he told MTV News, Franco was always going to play that part.

“I don’t think I really thought about anyone else,” Franco said, “mainly because, I don’t particularly like acting in my own movies, but if I do, it’s one less actor I have to get on board, and I know that I’ll be committed.”

With a role as tough and sensitive as Benjy, Franco added that, “It would be a lot to ask another person to do this role.”

Benjy is obviously a potentially sensitive characterization, but Franco wasn’t worried about the “Tropic Thunder” rule when it comes to mentally challenged characters, and luckily had great source material to fall back on.

“What guided me was the book, there’s a very clear description of the character in the book,” Franco said.

He was also able to help put the audience in Benjy’s shoes by filming those scenes a certain way, adding that, “The actual camerawork, framing, the editing style of my section really works with the character. ...

Can you believe it took eight studio albums before Jennifer Lopez put out an ode to her, well you know “Booty“? Trust us, it was worth the wait. Lopez’s new single features our favorite Aussie, Iggy Azalea, doing a guest verse on the track. Sure, it initially had Pitbull dropping some rhymes on this, but after watching this video, you’ll probably be saying, “Pitbull who?”

It is simply that good. And Lopez kills it with a surprising number of outfit changes considering the video’s lightning-fast pace. We took the time to break down all of J.Lo’s looks. Vamanos!

Kim Kardashian’s backside has left many heads spinning, but it disoriented “Ridiculousness” host Rob Dyrdek to the point where he couldn’t remember exactly where it is.

In a bonus scene from the most recent episode, which featured Kim’s sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Rob asks the girls about Kim’s notorious “bosom.” And though they seem to know he’s got his anatomy phrases a bit mixed-up, they play along.

After Rob asks the girls if the Kardashian-Jenner clan has any nicknames for Kim’s “bosom,” he can only think to declare, “A great bosom is a great asset to have in life.” Finally, a producer feels compelled to step in and enlighten Rob by pointing out, “You might want to say butt instead of bosom, because bosom generally refers to breasts.” Mistakes happen, man.

“I didn’t catch it!” Kendall says in an effort to console the increasingly embarrassed stunt man, but the damage has been done, and all Rob can do is walk off his shame in front of the giant laptop’s glow. You’ve just gotta learn some lessons the hard way…
