MGK Drops New Music To Kick Off His Tour: Listen To ‘Wanna Ball’

by 2 mins ago

Starting Wednesday night (September 3), Machine Gun Kelly is going to be on the road until the end of October — much of it with Limp Bizkit by his side. And before he went out to see his fans for that two-month trek on the No Class tour, Kells treated them to some new music this afternoon.

On “Wanna Ball,” over airy production from Pro Logic, MGK looks back on his grind — all the way back to his pre-rap days — and promises, “we ain’t mopping no more floors, biatch.”

Later, in the second verse, he goes more in depth about his early days: “Didn’t have a rap name, I was just hopeful/ Paid for my first studio session with quarters, we ain’t even have enough money to cut vocals.”

Check out the full list of tour dates at his official site to see when he’s hitting a city near you.

The Karl Lagerfeld Barbie Will, Obviously, Be Very Exclusive

by 5 mins ago

Barbie has been making waves lately. Not only does the style icon have a collection with Forever 21 coming out today, but she’s also been spotted jet-setting and posting snaps of her outfits on Instagram. Like all good fashion bloggers, her boyfriend, Ken, has been confirmed as Barbie’s unofficial photographer. Rumor has it that she’s going to make an appearance at all four major fashion weeks starting this week in New York. But the biggest news? Barbie has teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld and created a female doll in his likeness.

Karl Lagerfeld x BarbieVogue

Not surprisingly, mini Karl won’t be easy to get your hands on. The Karl Barbies will be produced in a super limited batch of 999 dolls, and will only be available at Karl Lagerfeld boutiques, Collette, Net-A-Porter, and thebarbiecollector.com. Each will be priced at around $200, and will be available for purchase on September 29. From what we’ve seen so far, the tiny Mattel Inc. x Karl Lagerfeld figurine will be dressed in a near replica of Uncle Karl’s uniform: a black and white suit with a tie, fingerless gloves, sunglasses, and a signature white ponytail.

No word on what possible accessories might come with tiny Karl, but I’m hoping it’s a tiny fan, a bottle of Diet Coke and, an even smaller Choupette.

K-Pop’s Ladies Code Were Primed For Stardom Before Tragic Death Of EunB

by 31 mins ago

The K-pop community suffered a tragic loss when Ladies Code singer EunB died in a horrific car accident on Wednesday (September 3).

According to the group’s label, Polaris Entertainment, the South Korean girl group were headed back to Seoul when their car’s back wheel came off, causing the vehicle to spin several times and hit a guardrail.

Another member, Rise, is currently out of emergency brain surgery, but according to the label she is “under careful observation,” while member So Jung underwent an operation for a bone fracture. Two other members, along with the group’s manager and stylists, did not suffer serious injuries but were treated “because of the shock and trauma from the accident.”

While many here in the United States may not be too familiar with the girl group — formed by Polaris Entertainment just last year — they were beginning to gain traction overseas.

The fivesome — Ashley, Rise, Sojung, Zuny and EunB — were named one of Billboard‘s five K-pop artists to look out for in 2014 and had just released their latest single, “Kiss Kiss,” last month.

According to the label, this single sets the tone for more “cheerful, funky music” that’s not only “fun to listen to but to watch as well with the waacking style of dance and unique stage,” which is clearly evident in the group’s music video for the song.

The quirky quartet certainly have unique style, infusing their electro-pop sounds with polished dance moves and a throwback ...

This Recut ‘Monsters, Inc.’ Trailer Is Less ‘Awww,’ More ‘Ahhhh!’

by 11 mins ago

Despite the fact that it’s called “Monsters, Inc.” and stars actual monsters, it’s generally accepted that the 2001 Pixar movie is actually pretty cute and cuddly. It’s about friendship, tolerance and overcoming prejudice. D’awwww.

This trailer of footage from the movie, recut to invoke the spooky and definitely not about friendship, tolerance and overcoming prejudice vibes of Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus.” More “ahhhhh!” than “awwww,” if you catch our drift. It’s monstrous stuff.

Check out the trailer, edited by The Unusual Suspect, below.

Kim Kardashian, Rick Ross And Chance The Rapper Love Will Prince’s Art — You Should, Too

by 13 mins ago

When I saw the cover art for Alex Wiley’s mixtape Village Party a couple months back, I was struck by the image. It’s a realistic depiction of the rapper — but not so much so that it looked like a photo. The colors, shading, texture and details all gave it a life of its own.

I did a little digging and found out that the artist behind the cover was Will Prince, a 22-year-old U.K. native with a knack for drawing some eye-catching pictures of your favorite rappers.

And he’s caught the attention of some of those very artists, including Chance the Rapper on Facebook, Rick Ross on Instagram and Kid Cudi back in the MySpace days. Meanwhile, others, like Action Bronson and Asher Roth, have gone even further, enlisting his talents to create cover art for recent projects.

“Hip-hop is a huge part of my life; I live on it, so I guess, subconsciously, I brought my two passions together,” Prince told MTV News. “As a kid, I was more into cartoons and kid sh–, so I was drawing Batman, Dragon Ball Z characters and making my own comics books. If you scroll through my Tumblr you’ll notice I also make a lot of pop art-influenced pieces, very seductive and erotic. I love women like I love hip-hop, so I brought those two passions together, too.”

Right now, Prince ...

This Joe Jonas Fashion Spread Will Make You Forget All About Summer

by 17 mins ago

Usually when Labor Day hits, people are all, “RIP summer.” But honestly, seeing Joe Jonas in the September issue of GQ Taiwan reminds us why we really, really love fall—and it’s not just because we’re no longer a total sweatfest. (See: all those suits and ties, y’all.)

In his back-to-school spread styled by Avo Yermagyan, Joe sports a patchwork button-up shirt with a skinny textured tie and crisp blue trousers. He also nails it in a varsity jacket with an untucked shirt and loose burgundy tie. (This kind of killer layering can’t be done mid-August, people.)

In another photo from the spread, Joe Jonas peers pensively out a window in a double layered jacket, patterned tie, thick-framed specs, and the most perfect coif to boot. He also looks super school-portrait ready in a wool suit paired with a blue shirt and graphic tie.

Finally, Joe serves straight-up chiseled realness in a bold blue plaid suit jacket, white shirt and color-blocked tie, but if you want to see all his ensembles in action, check out the behind-the-scenes video from his GQ Taiwan shoot below!

If You Love ‘Harry Potter,’ These 7 Things Are Your Horcruxes

by 15 mins ago

If you’ve ever truly been a part of the world of “Harry Potter,” you know that sometimes, a horcrux just can’t be helped. One minute, you’re up to your eyeballs in all things wizardly whimsy — and the next, a little piece of your actual soul has broken off and buried itself somewhere in the story. Where do our fractured selves reside now, years after the last page has been turned? Here are the seven things that are every die-hard (and we mean that in the most literal sense) “Harry Potter” fan’s personal horcrux.

1. Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross Station.

Thousands of fans have made Potterhead pilgrimages to this magical spot, where Harry’s journey to Hogwarts began. (And, yes, you can visit.)

2. The python in the reptile house at the London Zoo.

The first magic-containing scene in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was filmed here — and we all know that snakes make great horcruxes. Just ask Voldemort.

3. The napkin on which J.K. Rowling wrote the first words of the book that started it all.

elephant-house

Or at least, the little Edinburgh cafe called The Elephant House, from whence that notable napkin came.

4. The bust of Hermes in room 652 at the Balmoral Hotel.
