Demi Lovato Reveals Why She Unfollowed Selena Gomez On Twitter

by 10 mins ago

Seems like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez’s BFF status is currently on hiatus.

The newly VMA nominated pop star stopped by Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on Thursday where she was played “Plead the Fifth.” Demi was given three questions by host Andy Cohen and the option to not answer one of them.

Andy started off the round by asking who she would “Shag, Marry or Kill,” Joe Jonas, Justin Bieber, Simon Cowell.

“I’d kill Bieber. I’d kill Simon. F–k, I’d kill Joe, too!” Lovato said. “No, Joe and I are good friends, so I wouldn’t kill him. I’d keep him around.”

Demi then opted out of the next question which was to give details on the most scandalous thing she’s ever seen a Disney channel star do, but she was most likely regretting that decision when it came time for the next question.

“You recently unfollowed your BFF Selena Gomez on Twitter. So much speculation about this! Can you tell us why?” Andy asked.

Demi then answered, “I plead the sixth, if that’s in the game,” before Cohen added, “Are people reading too much into it? Are they reading into something that doesn’t exist?”

“I think it’s just one of those things where people change and people grow apart,” Demi answered.

Fans noticed that Demi unfollowed Selena on Twitter back in July, and also allegedly tweeted and deleted that same day, “Swimming away from the bullsh– bye bitch.”

Earlier this year the two seemed to be on good terms ...

by 34 mins ago

The shooting death of Ferguson, Missouri, teen Michael Brown has sent shock waves of throughout the nation as protesters have gathered in several cities, including St. Louis, New York, Los Angeles and Washington. The crowds have taken to the streets to denounce police brutality and mourn the unarmed 18-year-old who was shot by an officer on Saturday.

J. Cole protested in a different way on Friday morning (August 15) when he released “Be Free,” a heartfelt dedication to Brown.

“How we feel,” Cole tweeted at about 4:30 a.m. with a Soundcloud link.

“And I’m in denial and it don’t take no X-ray to see right through my smile,” he croons in a raspy voice to start the song.

There’s is no rapping on the track, just Cole singing emotionally, over a sentimental piano. “All we wanna do is be free,” he pleads before asking, “Can you tell me why every time I step outside I see my n—as die?”

To close the track, Cole uses a soundbite from Dorian Johnson, Brown’s friend and an eyewitness to the shooting.

“He turned around, put his hands in the air,” Johnson can be heard saying near the end of the song. “He started to get down but the officer still approached with his weapon drawn and he fired several more shots.”

Mentally been many places, but I'm Brooklyn's own. Hip-hop gives me life!

Ariana Grande Teases ‘My Everything,’ And Yes — It Is Everything

by 41 mins ago

A total of 10 days remain until Ariana Grande’s My Everything will be released on August 25, but thankfully the “Break Free” singer seems to understand how unfathomably trying this wait has been for her fans. That’s probably why she sneaked a couple of song teasers onto the Internet in the form of Instagram videos. Not to be ungrateful, but, um, maybe warn an Arianator first next time? Some of us might have been holding scalding-hot coffee in our hands…

Related: Unlock Lyrics From Ariana Grande’s My Everything

The first song is the title track off the VMA performer’s sophomore album, and it features a gorgeous orchestral intro that any classical Viennese composer would kill for. (Note to Ariana: If a man who calls himself Salieri approaches you — RUN.) The second new tune, posted on Thursday, is “Break Your Heart Right Back,” an infectious, snap-along jam that’s sure to fill the titular heartbreaker with gallons of regret.

Here’s the string section-backed “My Everything.”

Can it just, like, be August 25 yet? Thanks.

And here’s a taste of “Break Your Heart Right Back.”

It’s bestie Alexa-approved and everything.

‘The Giver’ Reviews: How Does The Movie Compare To The Book?

by 20 mins ago

At long last, “The Giver” has arrived — but does it have enough color to survive?

That’s the key question critics are batting back and forth as reviews for this weekend’s “The Giver,” directed by Phillip Noyce and based on Lois Lowry’s 1993 novel of the same name, start to trickle in. Starring Brenton Thwaites and Jeff Bridges, “The Giver” takes place in a future society devoid of color and emotion, preferring authority-abiding Sameness to the dangers of diversity. The classic young adult novel is a key predecessor of stories like “The Hunger Games” and “Divergent,” but how does it hold up as a film of its own?

Some reviewers are happier with the results than others. Here’s a look at what folks have to say about “The Giver,” from its colorful cast to its color-free world:

The Story
“Thwaites plays Jonas, who lives in a black-and-white world. Literally. Color, unpredictable weather and interpersonal conflict have been carefully excised from the society he was born into — an unnamed city-state, set on a mesa ringed by clouds, where identical dwellings house family units whose members aspire to perfect Sameness. Daily injections of passion-inhibiting drugs help in that quest, as does a total ignorance of history. Memories of mankind’s unruly past have been erased, known only to a single Receiver of Memory (played by Bridges, who appears to have filled his cheeks with cotton in search of the perfect grumbly-gruff Voice of Experience).

“Upon their ritualized graduation from childhood, the Chief Elder ...

The Greatest ‘Celebrity Cameos’ In The History Of ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’

by 44 mins ago

From moonlighting as drug mules to getting plastic surgery on their “wieners,” Beavis and Butt-Head have had some pretty crazy adventures. Along the way, they met a few famous folks as well. While Mike Judge was responsible for 90% of the voice work on the show, “Beavis and Butt-Head” still had a few celebrities pop in to play memorable characters from time to time. And then there was “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” the duo’s star-studded big screen epic, which featured almost as many celeb cameos as d**k jokes. Let’s take a look at some of the famous faces who met, seduced, picked fights with and were generally annoyed by our favorite teenage troublemakers.

Bobcat Goldthwait, “Beavis, Can You Spare a Dime?”

bobcat

Comedian and “Police Academy” star Bobcat Goldthwait turned up as a drunken homeless man in the episodes “Party” and “Beavis, Can You Spare a Dime?” In the latter episode, he teaches the duo the art of panhandling (Beavis’ sob story is that he was born without “nads”) and gives Butt-Head the awesome nickname “Mr. Goodnight Hairdo.”

David Spade, “Manners Suck” and “Candy Sale”

david-spade

Voicing characters in several episodes, Spade was the closest thing “Beavis and Butt-head” had to a recurring guest star. Spade’s smarmy delivery is used to good effect as both an etiquette expert in “Manners Suck” and a slick candy salesman in “Candy Sale,” an episode which featured his character trying to put the smackdown on Beavis before getting pummeled ...

‘Faking It’ Season 2 Is In Full Swing — See Photos From The Set!

by 4 mins ago

The stars of “Faking It” have spent the past week reveling in their Teen Choice Awards win, but it’s time to put away the streamers and confetti and get back to work!

After an inaugural season that explored how far teenagers will go to achieve popularity, Katie Stevens, Rita Volk and the whole Hester High gang have officially begun shooting Season 2. And some photos Gregg Sulkin shared from set definitely indicate they’re happy to get the ball rolling once more.

S2PhotosGregg Sulkin's Instagram

“The “faking it” gang say hello :)” Sulkin tweeted with a photo that finds the show’s five main actors arm-in-arm (perhaps they’ve forgotten their characters all pretty much hate each other at this point…?).

S2Photos2Gregg Sulkin's Instagram

So…what exactly can we expect from the upcoming episodes? Will Karmy mend fences, which showrunner Carter Covington told Buzzfeed wasn’t out of the question? Will Lauren stow away her daggers and start to play nice? Will Shane, on the other hand, let his fangs show? Only time will tell, but for now, the group’s just happy to be back in the swing of things.

“Day one of Season 2 and I’m loving it!! #FakingIt” Michael Willett tweeted as things officially got underway.

Check out the photos, share your excitement for the return of “Faking It” and hang tight for the Season 2 premiere on September 23 at 10:30/9:30c!
