The “Awkward” mid-season finale found Jenna Hamilton, Sadie Saxton and friends freezing their asses off during a snowy ski trip, but it looks like this season will wrap up on a much warmer note.

This week, the show’s cast tweeted photos from a picturesque beach during the final days of Season 4 filming, and something about the sand between their toes got some strong sentiments brewing.

“These people are my best friends, my family. I love them so much,” Jillian Rose Reed tweeted with a collage of recent behind-the-scenes shots.

No, we’re not tearing up — that’s just some airborne saltwater in our eyes…

Heartstring-pulling aside, the gang also proved they were as goofy as ever when Nikki Deloach stumbled upon an errant pair of tighty-whities.

“Only on our set,” the woman behind Lacey Hamilton wrote as she hovered over the undergarments.

You can take these guys out of Palos Hills, but you can’t take the Palos Hills out of them…

If you’re bummed about a lack of “Awkward” on your TV screen, just remember — there’s more to come! Sound off on the photos, and keep up with MTV News for more info on upcoming episodes.

‘Planet Of The Apes’ Caesar Talks To ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Gollum And It’s Amazing

by 3 mins ago

Andy Serkis is a motion-capture magician, an actor with astonishing range, and most recently, the monkey-suited star of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” But as great as all that stuff is, let’s just be honest: We’re here for the Gollum voice.

During his appearance on “Conan” Wednesday night, Serkis discussed his latest film and gave his hosts some expert instruction in the fine art of making monkey noises — which was, to be clear, also very funny. But it jumps to a whole new level at the two-minute mark, when Serkis imagines a telephone conversation between Caesar, the main man monkey from “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” and everyone’s favorite Middle Earth riddler, the illustrious, phlegmmy Gollum.

Also present during said convo: Smeagol, who has much nicer things to say about Conan’s abilities than his cantankerous alter-ego.

Beyonce And Jay Z Share New Home Movies Of Blue Ivy On Tour: Watch

by 11 mins ago

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida — The notion that we never truly get to know what Jay Z and Beyoncé are like behind closed doors seems to fascinate us endlessly. Have you ever noticed how nearly every media scandal they’re involved in — from the elevator fight video to that allegedly lip-synched national anthem performance — somehow revolves around the idea that this power couple might be less than perfect?

That’s why the decision to frame their joint On The Run Tour, which kicked off at Miami Gardens’ Sun Life Stadium on Wednesday night (June 25), as a kind of super-public couple’s therapy session was so brilliant. Even though the concert was tightly choreographed, filled with costume changes, and packed with pyrotechnics, it still felt like you were watching something hugely intimate unfold before your eyes.

One particularly personal highlight came near the end of the set list. Beyoncé and Jay Z made their way to the smaller stage in the center of the stadium, where the 32-year-old singer broke out into “Halo.” Back on the main stage, the screen lit up with a series of home movies that documented their two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy’s journey from the womb all the way to the present.

The visuals added a new dimension to the song, one that I’d always thought of as strictly a love ballad, and quite honestly it was kind of surreal. Beaming up on that center stage, baby ...

Rocket Raccoon Has A Very Big Gun In New ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Footage

by 28 mins ago

Some new footage from “Guardians of the Galaxy” debuted in two different places yesterday.

An extended TV spot shows off a little more Rocket Raccoon than we’ve previously seen, including a shot were he gets a very big gun.

Then Entertainment Tonight ran a piece that equates each member of the Guardians to someone from the Avengers. It assumes that the only reason you’d ever go see a movie is because it has elements similar to “The Avengers.” Because Rocket Raccoon is so much like Iron Man.

So maybe watch it with the sound muted.

Despite the narration, there’s some interesting footage in there, including our first look at the team’s prison escape.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” opens in theaters on August 1.

Watch Out For A ‘Badass’ Cameo In Demi Lovato’s ‘Really Don’t Care’ Video

by 7 mins ago

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for Lovatics, because Demi Lovato is just few hours away from world premiering her brand new video, “Really Don’t Care.”

Today at 5 p.m. ET. on MTV, MTV Hits, and LOGO, we will see Demi take over Los Angeles’ Gay Pride Parade, celebrating with the crowd and sending a clear message to all the haters with her powerful pop-anthem.

“When we performed that at pride there were protesters that were saying that being gay was a sin and stuff like that,” Demi, who was the Grand Marshall, told MTV News of what it was like shooting at the parade on June 8. “And it felt amazing to sing with other people in their faces and sing “I really don’t care.”

Demi has been teasing us over the past few days with clips from the video, but she’s not done yet, telling us to keep on the lookout for a special cameo.

“I have a special guest at the end of the video and its just such a badass moment that I’m so excited for my fans to see,” Demi said, telling us that it is not a fellow singer. “It’s just so cool.”

“Really Don’t Care” is the fourth single off her album Demi. At the time of it’s release, the pop star considered this to be a song about a break-up, but after thinking more about the song she wanted it to have “a deeper message” since she stands for much more than ...

Will Ferrell Vows To Play In The World Cup, Bite All The Germans

by 13 mins ago

When you tune in today for the U.S.A.’s big World Cup match against Germany, don’t be surprised if you see a certain spastic Anchorman loping across the field.

Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance in Brazil yesterday, at a party where American fans were gathered to celebrate the impending match. To roars of approval, Ferrell announced that he would be taking the field with the U.S. team as they battle to advance to the next stage of the tournament — and that while he might not be in “soccer shape,” he would nevertheless take all measures necessary to ensure a win.

“I will bite every German player if I have to!” Ferrell shouted.

If the biting doesn’t work, Will will presumably escalate to punching the Germans in the ovaries and sending them all back to their home on Whore Island.

‘Transformers’ Star Mark Wahlberg Calls Out Optimus Prime’s Big Secret

by 16 mins ago

With Reporting by Josh Horowitz

Fair warning, readers: If you don’t want to have one of the most well-guarded secrets in Hollywood ruined for you, read no further.

Speaking with MTV News at the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” junket, Mark Wahlberg dropped a massive bombshell that fans of the robot-smashing franchise never could have seen coming.

You ready for it? Watch below and see for yourself…

That’s right: Optimus Prime is real.

“He’s there. He’s real,” swears Wahlberg. “He was there.”

Bet you didn’t see that one coming, did you? That’s because millions and millions of dollars are spent on every single “Transformers” film convincing audiences that Prime and his fellow Autobots aren’t real. But they totally are, and Wahlberg is sick of covering up for Hollywood’s most private celebrities.

“See, that’s what they do,” the actor revealed about the various robots in the “Transformers” films. “They want to convince people that they’re not real. They are real.”

Eventually, Wahlberg dialed back on revealing Prime’s big secret, after one of the Autobot leader’s bodyguards threatened the human actor’s personal safety in an off-camera segment. When the cameras started rolling again, Wahlberg revealed what it takes to act opposite an “imaginary” robot like Optimus Prime, who is absolutely, totally not real.

Really.

“You just have to go for it,” he advised. “Ten or fifteen years ago, I couldn’t have done it. I was too self-conscious and too worried about looking cool. But we just go out there, and I realize now that I’m not cool, so who gives ...

Diddy Is ‘Like A Mentor’ To Ab-Soul

by 2 mins ago

Listening to Ab-Soul’s new album, These Days, which dropped on Tuesday, there were a few things that surprised us 00 unexpected features, unusual flows — and an outro by Diddy on the song “Hunnid Stax,” featuring Schoolboy Q and an uncredited Mac Miller.

“I met Diddy through Q,” Ab-Soul told MTV News. “You know, Q calls himself Puffy, as well. After we exchanged numbers, he just kind of really just became a lot like a mentor to me. So it was just real profound to me to try to get Puffy and Puffy on the same song.”

They met in person earlier this year, and from there, the relationship grew. Once the Black Lip Pastor decided to ask Mr. Combs to get on the project, he got something special in return.

“That was a Biggie reference, too,” Soul said proudly of the 10-second a cappella vocals that Puff supplied. “That was the end of the ‘B.I.G. Interlude’ on Life After Death, so that was super profound — to have Puffy do that for me, to make that reference.”

As exciting as the outcome was, that portion of the song almost didn’t come to fruition.

“It was one of my last little ideas, which was the cause for the wait,” he added. “I turned it in at the top of the year, but, you know, it was a company decision to go back in and tighten it up and expound on it as best as I could, and just make it ...
