‘Faking It’ Poll: Can Karma Have Her Cake And Eat It Too?

by 05/20/14

Karma‘s already gone to great lengths to try and land the heart (and then some) of Hester High School’s hottest guy, but has she finally taken things too far?

On tonight’s “Faking It” episode, Liam, who stunned Karma last week by shunning her sexual advances, realized there was a reason he’d withdrawn: He didn’t want to mess up Karma and Amy‘s relationship. It was the first time Liam had practiced restraint with someone he wanted to sleep with, and he was shocked by his own self-control.

One person who wasn’t too appreciative of Liam’s prudence, though, was Karma, who’d convinced herself he just didn’t see her as smushable. She was relieved when he explained himself, but disappointed that his revelation meant they couldn’t get together — at least as long as she and Amy kept up their charade. But when it seemed as if all hope was lost, Karma boldly proposed a solution: a threesome. And suddenly, it looked like Liam was willing to reconsider a roll in the hay (or art room).

There’s a fabric store’s worth of red flags here. Amy might have feelings for Karma, but they’re not reciprocated, and — straight or gay — sex always complicates ish between friends. Still, Amy knows how much Karma has been pining after Liam, and a threesome might finally make something real happen. So, is an Amarmiam romp out of the question? Sound off!

‘Awkward.’ Poll: Is Luke A Good Fit For Jenna?

by 05/20/14

College is, often times, the place where you find yourself, but for Jenna Hamilton, it was the place where she found someone else. On tonight’s “Awkward” episode, the Palos Hills High School senior continued to see Luke, a Southern Coast University undergrad she’d met during a campus visit, and though he continued to prove he’s boyfriend material, we’re still wondering if the two are right for each other.

Sure, Luke is considerate and a great catch. He made the trip to watch Jenna direct the Mr. PHHS pageant, and when he saw that she was hurting after a particularly offensive comedy set by Matty McKibben, he bought her flowers just to cheer her up. And yes, the fact that he’s a writer means he and Jenna will never run out of interesting conversation. But the idea that Jenna has a curfew to contend with, among other parental rules, is proof that she and Luke are still in completely different places. We definitely see roadblocks ahead.

Tell us what you think — can Jenna and Luke put aside what divides them and make their budding romance work? Weigh in!

Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Next Movie Sounds Nothing Like ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’

by 05/20/14

By Maurice Bobb

When the announcement was made two weeks ago that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would be joining forces for their first on-screen collaboration since 2005’s “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” the only information available was the fact that Jolie was penning the script.

But now we know it’ll be a far cry from the action-packed motion picture that made “Brangelina” a household name.

“I really can’t say very much,” Jolie told Extra while doing promo for her new movie, “Maleficent.” “Except that it’s not a big movie, not an action movie. And it’s the kind of movie we both love but aren’t often cast in.”

So if they’re not dodging bullets as hired assassins or taking down clandestine agencies at the multiplex, what exactly will the two beautiful movie stars be doing for their onscreen reunion?

“It’s a very experimental, independent type film,” she explained. “Where we get to just be actors together and be really raw and open and try things.”

This movie doesn’t sound like your typical summer blockbuster, but one thing’s for sure: moviegoers will definitely be excited to see the Hollywood power-couple light up the big-screen once again.

“Maleficent” lands in theaters on May 30.

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pills N Potions’: 4 Things We Need From This Single

by 05/20/14

In 24 hours, or less, Nicki Minaj will drop the first single from her anticipated third album, The Pink Print, and to be honest, we don’t really know what to expect. While her last album leaned far into the dance/pop genres, her recent work has been anything but that. The Queens rapper lit a few fires with her 2014 freestyles (and the Young Money cut “Lookin’ Ass N—a,”) and now we wait to see if she’ll show up with a real fusion of hip-hop and pop, or go in the very opposite direction of her last LP. Fans are already threatening to skip school just to hear the new track when it drops, but of course Nicki isn’t having any of that. Here are a few things we’re expecting from Ms. Minaj’s upcoming single “Pills N Potions.”

“Monster”-Level Bars
Nicki has been en fuego on her last few releases, and we’re hoping that nothing changes. She’s laid down some hard-hitting verses on tracks like “Yasss Bish,” and “Chi-Raq,” and since “Pills & Potions” is her first official single from The Pink Print — it has to go even harder. The YMCMB rapper dropped one of the most memorable verses — ever — on Kanye’s “Monster,” and we’re hoping for a repeat on her own single this time around.

An Incredible Cameo — Or, None At All
At this point, Nicki has been featured on tracks with everyone from Nas to Kanye West and ...

‘American Idol’ Recap: Caleb Johnson And Jena Irene Slug It Out For The Crown

by 05/20/14

Season 13 of “American Idol” limped to its (near) conclusion on Tuesday night (May 20), in a final showdown that capped a season where the producers finally seemed to get the judge’s panel right, but ratings dipped by more than 20 percent yet again as a forgettable group of finalists failed to win back America’s hearts and eyeballs.

The final two contestants said it all. In one corner you had odds-on favorite Caleb Johnson, the 23-year-old Asheville, North Carolina, classic rock traditionalist whose blustery, feathered-hair and jean jacket style went out with the first Bush administration. He faced off against 17-year-old Farmington Hills, Michigan, high schooler Jena Irene, the only hope left for the aging franchise to put forward a singer whose Paramore-meets-EDM style is within spitting distance of relevance on the charts.

The show consisted of three rounds: the first featuring songs picked by show creator and producer Simon Fuller, a reprise of the singer’s favorites from the season and the debut of their winner and runner-up songs.

Jena Makes The Judges Fall In Love All Over Again
Accompanied by a quintet of drummers, Irene charged out first with a powerhouse cover of Florence and the Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over.” After she ended the song on her knees, Keith Urban said “the way that you own that stage is so good… that’s a sign of a real pro.”

Reprising the song that inspired Jennifer Lopez to jump up and kiss her, Irene was back behind the piano for Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling ...

Six Iranians Arrested For Making Video To Pharrell’s ‘Happy’

by 05/20/14

Six young Iranians have been arrested after they uploaded a video of themselves dancing throughout Tehran to Pharrell’s “Happy.”

“Happy in Tehran” was uploaded to YouTube last month and garnered more than 165,000 views before being made private. It shows three men and three women — all unveiled — looking, well, happy as they dance and lip-synch to Pharrell’s hit.

But authorities in Tehran are calling the video “vulgar,” and all six were arrested and forced to formally apologize on state television. (Under Islamic law, women are required to cover themselves from head to toe in public, a rule monitored by “morality police.”)

“After a vulgar clip which hurt public chastity was released in cyberspace, police decided to identify those involved in making that clip,” Tehran police chief Hossein Sajedinia announced on Tuesday (May 20), according to ABC News. “Following a series of intelligence and police operations and after coordinating with the judiciary, all the suspects were identified and arrested.”

The clip was one of many “Happy” covers made by fans worldwide in celebration of the UN’s International Day of Happiness.

In an interview last month, one of the dancers in the video, named Neda, said the video was meant to show that young Iranians “have moments of joy and happiness even though they live with many difficulties.”

“We wanted to tell the world that the Iranian capital is full of lively young people and change the harsh and rough image that the world sees on the news,” she said.

“It is beyond sad that these ...

Mac Miller Has A Super Dark Idea For A ‘Lion King’ Spin-Off

by 05/20/14

By Maurice Bobb

Mac Milleris a bonafide cinefile. The Pittsburgh rapper has an encyclopedic knowledge of cinema, why else would he name his sophomore LP Watching Movies With The Sound Off?

But here’s something Macheads may not know: the Faces MC’s all-time favorite film is an animated classic.

“I actually can make my one statement of what my favorite movie of all time is, you ready?” Mac asked XXL in a recent interview. “’Lion King,’ bro.”

That’s right. The seminal Disney cartoon centered around Simba’s coming-of-age adventure to become King has all the crucial core values and life lessons, according to Mac.

“That sh-t is amazing — soundtrack, incredible, and the actual story and values it teaches a young person is f–king amazing,” he added. “For me, Lion King, that sh-t was crazy. I’ve been saying that all the music I’ve been making recently is all like that scene where the hyenas are all marching.”

The scene that troubled him the most, though, was Mufasa’s death.

“But that’s the other thing — if you moved that into, like, a human movie scene — that man got trampled, and this man Simba had to go up and watch his dad die,” he said. “That’s some f–ked up sh-t as a human being! If I had to see my pops get trampled by antelopes and then die? I can’t — and then say, ‘I can’t wait to be king’ — I would be able to wait to be king after that, you know? I’m gonna ...

Justin Bieber Rapped Tupac’s ‘Dear Mama’ In A Club…While Shirtless

by 05/20/14

If you never thought you’d see Justin Bieber rapping Tupac’s “Dear Mama” while shirtless in a packed club, well, I hate to break it to you, but you were wrong.

After playing hypeman for Rick Ross for hits like “B.M.F.” and “All I Do Is Win” during a show at Gotha Club in Cannes, Biebs grabbed the mic, took off his shirt, and swung the mood by rapping the touching-yet-somber Pac hit (it’s unclear if this was the actual order of events, but seems likely).

“I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell/ Huggin’ on my mama from a jail cell,” Bieber rapped in the short video clip, obtained by TMZ.

The club appearance was just one aspect of a packed evening of bro-ing out for the singer and Rozay, who each shared images of their time together on social media earlier this week.
