50 Cent On Lloyd Banks Rift: ‘I Was A Bit Insensitive’

G-Unit were once thick as thieves, but these days 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks just aren't on the same page.

Yayo took to Instagram last week to announce that he was done making music and Fif is busy prepping his June solo release, Animal Ambition. So what about Banks?

"I think he wanted his independence," 50 told MTV News on Monday just before a sit-down at Eminem's Shade 45 radio station, where he taped a SIRIUS XM Town Hall with fans set to air on March 31. "[Yayo and Banks are] like my little brothers, so at points I say things that make them uncomfortable. There was one point where you can even say I was a bit insensitive," 50 admitted.

In an MTV interview set to air in full today (March 19) on "RapFix Live," 50 explained that Banks started feeling uninspired musically after his father died in 2006. But 50 revealed that he found it hard to relate to his longtime homey's grief.

"His father passed away and I was like, 'All right, he passed away but you can't just go home and stay home,' " 50 recalled telling Banks.

LB did go on to release 2008's T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight) with G-Unit and his The Hunger For More 2 solo LP in 2010. There have been a number of solo mixtapes, too, but with each passing year, Banks has continued to withdraw from his old crew.

To 50, another rapper who also lost a parent but pulled themselves through dark times — Kanye West — is a ...

Can ‘Divergent’ Succeed Where ‘Beautiful Creatures’ And ‘Mortal Instruments’ Failed?

You might not guess it by looking at "Twilight" or "The Hunger Games," but YA adaptations are in a bad way. That's because nearly every attempt to capitalize off of the popularity of the book genre &#8212 "Beautiful Creatures," "The Host" and "The Mortal Instruments" being the prime examples — have failed spectacularly.

That's where "

We won't know for sure until this weekend's box office results come in on Sunday, but there are a couple of factors that hint that "Divergent" could be the film to break the cold streak.

It's common sense that comparing two books series, the more popular of the two would make the bigger movie. If there's any quantifiable way to explain why "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games," it might be the fact that the books were significantly more popular than either "Beautiful Creatures" or "The Mortal Instrument."

While book sales figures are notorious difficult to find without subscriptions to the right services, it's worth noting that "Divergent" has been atop the New York Times Children's Series chart since early November. "Beautiful Creatures" and "The Mortal Instruments" topped the chart much closer to their respective release dates and hung on for between one and three months, before handing the spot back over to "The Hunger Games."

Veronica Roth's book certainly has enough eyes on it to guarantee a success in the eyes of analysts, but the real question is whether it can take off to become something much more cultural impactful.

Then, there's Shailene Woodley, the actress that seems destined for the kind of attention ...

‘Frozen’ Just Won’t ‘Let It Go’: Album Holds On To #1 Spot

Forget those buds peeking out and the giant piles of filthy snow finally melting away, on the Billboard 200 album chart it's still winter. Notching its sixth non-consecutive week at #1, the soundtrack to "Frozen" will be back on top thanks to sales of 99,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

First To A Milli
With last week's figures, sales to date for the soundtrack moved to 1.4 million, with 1.1 million coming in 2014, making the album the first platinum-seller of the year so far.

Just behind was Luke Bryan's Spring Break 6 ... Like We Ain't Ever digital EP, which moved 74,000 to land at #2, giving Bryan two titles in the top 20.

All Blacc Everything
Aloe Blacc is finally getting his time to shine with Lift Your Spirit. The "Wake Me Up" hookman has scored his own hit with "The Man" and Spirit landed him at #4 on sales of 45,000. It was also a solid week for long-running ska rockers 311, whose Stereolithic debuted at #6 (41,000).

Big Dippin'
After hitting #1 last week, Rick Ross' Mastermind
lost 73 percent of its business, moving down to #3 as sales tailed off to 49,000. It was also a big second week comedown for Pharrell Williams, with G I R L
dipping by 60 percent to 45,000 as it slipped three spots to #5.

Young Money Rise To The Top

#WCW: Ellie Goulding Steals Our ‘Beating Heart’

Ellie Goulding made our "Divergent" dreams come true when she, along with the movie's stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James, stopped by MTV News to world-premiere her video for the soundtrack cut . But that's only one of the reasons she's our pick for this week's #WomanCrushWednesday.

The U.K. songstress also has three more songs featured on the soundtrack for the YA adaptation, which hits theaters Friday. And her voice has been woven throughout "Divergent," making Ellie the "musical voice" of the film's heroine, Tris.

We're all Goulddiggers here, but here are some reasons why ... in case you needed a little more convincing:

She Voices Our Inner Thoughts

She's Light On Her Feet

That Hair

She Knows Her Way Around A Leopard Print

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Trailer: Finally, A Look At The Green Goblin Fight

A lot of what we've seen from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has been kind of worrisome. There were some great things about the first movie starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone — namely there chemistry. And some elements that just kind of sucked — pretty much anything that had to do with the Lizard.

And that's what has fans nervous. There are three villains now. (An one of them has awful spiked hair.) So does that leave any room for what worked in "The Amazing Spider-Man"?

The final trailer, which just debuted, hints that maybe the Spider-Man we really liked is still there. The beginning of the trailer emphasizes Garfield's charming work as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and he's very good at doing both. Scenes like the one at the East River with Harry Osborn is the kind of stuff I'd like to see more of, honestly.

The rest of the trailer, however, isn't going to change the minds of anyone is afraid of villain overload. The Green Goblin plays a much bigger role in this final trailer, and we do get to see a good amount of his confrontation with Spider-Man.

The action is very reliant on CGI, which could get a little tiresome in the theater, but it's hard to deny that the sequences, like Spidey's work with a manhole cover, are expertly choreographed.

We'll see if Spider-Man can handle three villains at once (both physically and narratively) when "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" opens in theaters on May 2.

‘Ghostbusters 3’ Is A Go, So Who They Gonna Call?

Dust off your proton packs and haul the ambulance hearse out of storage: the Ghostbusters are back in business.

A report from Deadline confirms that the long-awaited reboot of the "

Ivan Reitman, who helmed the two original movies about a group of NYC ghost hunters, has chosen to take a producing role for the next round of films, a decision made in light of the death of his longtime friend Harold Ramis.

That leaves a juicy opportunity for another director to take the reins, bringing the beloved Ghostbusters to a whole new generation of moviegoers — and to assemble a cast who can hold their own against the misty water-colored memory of Venkman, Stantz, Spengler and Zeddmore.

As for who that director might be: there's a reported shortlist floating around Hollywood as we speak, but it's a fair bet that Barry Sonnenfeld is at the top of it.

In addition to having worked previously with new "Ghostbusters" scriptwriter Etan Cohen, Sonnenfeld's resume — most notably the "Men in Black" franchise — shows a wealth of experience in bringing both thrills and laughs within the same movie. When it comes to reproducing the original franchise's unique mix of horror and humor, he'd be more than capable.

Perhaps more important, though, will be the cast. The original "Ghostbusters" had heavyweights Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson playing its quartet of supernatural exterminators, not to mention appearances by Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis in supporting roles.

It's going to be a hard act to follow, and an impossible one to replicate. But when ...

Chris Martin Is Set To Mentor Contestants On ‘The Voice’

Miranda Lambert, Aloe Blacc, Jill Scott and the Band Perry are doing a great job on "The Voice." But starting March 31 things are going to kick up a notch.

That's when Coldplay singer Chris Martin will make his American reality show debut as a special universal advisor to all four judges on the singing competition.

According to USA Today the typically camera-shy Martin will appear on three episodes of the show (March 31, April 1 and April 7), where he will counsel Usher, Shakira, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton during the second phase of the Battle Rounds.

"He's such an authentic voice in the industry. We could not be happier," executive producer Mark Burnett said. "There's a massive level of respect from the singers and the surprise from them (when they met him) : 'Whoa! Chris Martin. Wow!'"

The announcement was made via Snapchat at the conclusion of Tuesday night's East Coast broadcast following an alert to fans sent out on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

That's not the only shake-up coming to the show. During Martin's run, contestants will for the first time be paired off to perform the same song separately in a sudden-death sing-off. This new Battles: Round Two
showdown replaces the old knock-out round that had finalists performing the song of their choice.

Martin, whose band is releasing their new album, Ghost Stories
, on May 19, has already recorded his musical sessions with the singer.

It's not Martin's first brush with "The Voice." He was reportedly one of the leading contenders to replace Keith Urban on "The Voice ...
