Eminem Is The First Rapper To Headline London’s Wembley Stadium

In his first London show since 2001, Eminem is set to take the stage at the “Venue of Legends,” Wembley Stadium.

Em announced the July 11 concert on Zane Lowes’s BBC1 Radio show, revealing that the event was born out of a hangup with Royal Parks approvals. The original show was targeted for Hyde Park.

“I heard that I wasn’t going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer,” he said. “The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it.”

The Detroit rapper also spoke about the prospect of announcing more one-off shows and confirmed that a full tour is not in the cards.

“As far as being on the road, I don’t know how that works for me right now,” Eminem said. “I’m Not saying I’ll never be ready for that again. I’m just saying, right now this is what’s working for me, and I’m having fun doing it.”

Tickets for Eminem’s Wembley Stadium concert in London go on sale Friday, May 9.
