Exclusive: Capone-N-Noreaga Reuniting For War In One Night EP

Capone-N-Noreaga aren’t throwing in the towel just yet. During a Wednesday (February 12) appearance on the C-N-N rappers exclusively revealed that they’re reuniting to release the new EP War in One Night next month.

The Queens rappers dropped their debut album The War Report in 1997, and delivered a sequel with The War Report 2: Report the War in 2010, but there’s a new chapter for N.O.R.E. and Capone on the way. After missing each other due to hectic travel schedules and passport issues, when they finally got up, they decided to just go all in.

“We did a whole EP in one night,” N.O.R.E. explained to Sway. “When [Capone] told me he was ready, I wasn’t ready, then I hit him said, ‘You ready?’ He said, ‘Yeah.’ So I did the whole EP, I sent it to him, then he sent me back he whole EP.”

After trading work a few times throughout the span of one night, they ended up with a complete project, mixed and all. “We’ve got a Capone and Noreaga EP dropping called War in One Night, because we really went to war in one night,” he added.

N.O.R.E. explained that he took note of Trinidad James’ comment about New York rappers losing their identity pretty seriously, and kept that in mind as he was making new music. And although C-N-N hasn’t released a joint album in almost four years, they were still very much in sync for this project.

“The thing about me and him, is that we could do records where he’ll leave spaces open and I can just jump right in because we’re so seasoned [with] how we do our music,” Capone explained. “Once he sent me what he had, I sent him back what I had, and we got right to it. It was done all in one night.”
