Get An Exclusive First Look At This ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Action Figure

With Toy Fair hitting New York this weekend, the veil will be lifted on some of 2014’s most anticipated movies, including “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” But even if you’re not heading to New York, MTV News has the hook-up: we’re pleased to exclusively bring you your first look at NECA’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” action figure for bad-boy bonobo Koba.

A major player in the first movie, Koba’s short temper and traumatic upbringing brought him into conflict with the heroic ape Caesar, though Koba ultimately followed him to the ape’s safe haven by the end of the film. We don’t know exactly where Koba will be (emotionally and physically) in the sequel, though rumors have him coming into conflict with Caesar. Given our look at the figure here, it certainly seems like Koba is ready for war.

NECA has also provided us with the official description for the figure, which will be released in May. Exact price is TBD, though it will somewhere in the range of $18-$22.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – 7″ Scale Action Figures — Series 1
These detailed action figures come straight from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the highly anticipated sequel to 2011′s Rise of the Planet of the Apes! A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.

They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species. Series 1 contains movie accurate, articulated versions of Caesar, Koba, and Maurice. The figures stand approximately 6″ tall and come with interchangeable hands and character-specific accessories.

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” hits theaters on May 23.
