J. Cole Kicks Off VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz In NYC: Watch Now

J. Cole celebrates his 28th birthday today, but the Roc Nation rapper got the party started early, hitting the stage to kick off VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz concert series on Monday night.

Cole had a full band and a crew of backup singers ready as he casually strolled onto the stage, holding a red Solo cup and sporting his diamond-studded Jesus piece, with a hoodie on. He didn’t even bother to use the mic for the first minute of his performance, while he hyped up the crowd and sang along to “Trouble,” from his sophomore album Born Sinner.

The North Carolina rapper will keep the birthday celebration rolling by bringing his “What Dreams May Come Tour” to Madison Square Garden in New York tonight.

VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz will feature live music at different venues throughout New York and New Jersey this week, leading up to the Super Bowl on Sunday. Check out Superbowl.VH1.com for more information on upcoming shows.
