Jeezy Arrested For Refusing To Cooperate With Police

Jeezy‘s legal woes seem to be stacking up.

Earlier this month, the Atlanta rapper turned himself in to authorities in response to charges that he had assaulted his teenage son. He was arrested and released. But on Tuesday afternoon, he was arrested and charged with obstruction, this time in a different incident.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, police officers showed up at a townhouse that belonged to Jeezy’s girlfriend in Alpharetta, Georgia, after the security alarm went off.

When cops arrived, no one opened the front door, but Jeezy was apparently exiting through the rear of the building at that point and refused to show identification to the officers when they approached him. After reportedly cursing at the officers and refusing to cooperate, Jeezy (born Jay Wayne Jenkins) was arrested. He was booked at the Fulton County Jail and was released later that night on $1,000 bond.

Jeezy’s camp has not issued a statement on the arrest as of yet, and MTV News had not heard back from a rep for the rapper at press time.

On January 3, Jeezy was booked and released on $45,000 bond in connection to the altercation with his son, which dates back to September 2012. The 36-year-old rapper reportedly got into an argument with the teenager that quickly escalated into a fight and left him facing charges of assault and “terroristic threats.”

At the time, Jeezy’s lawyer asked that fans respect the privacy of the rapper and his family, adding, “We have no doubt this matter will resolve itself appropriately.” He is currently expected to appear in court on January 29 for an arraignment hearing on those charges.
