Judging from the first look at his “Confident” video, Justin Bieber isn’t worried about anything except catching the eye of a young blonde thing.
In the short teaser clip, the singer shows off his signature dance moves in a room flooded with sunset-colored lights, surrounded by an army of dancers. And judging from what Justin told us in December on the red carpet of his “Believe” documentary, his fans are in for a surprise when they see the full Collin Tilley-directed clip, featuring Chance the Rapper, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.
“It went incredible,” Bieber told MTV News. “[Tilley] is super talented. There’s another surprise in the video I can’t really talk about it, but it’s exciting.”
The track is perhaps the most sensual of December’s rather personal Journals album, as Bieber and Chance the Rapper give a shout-out to one particularly well-endowed female: “She’s got a body like that/I ain’t never seen nothing like that,” Bieber sings. “Like a fantasy in front of me/ I think that something special is going down/That’s right I thinks she foreign/Think she foreign, got passports.”
The release comes at an interesting time for Bieber. Just last week, the singer was arrested in Miami on suspicion of DUI after he was pulled by police over drag racing in a rented Lamborghini with his friend Khalil. The singer will appear in court for that arrest on Valentine’s Day.
