Kanye West, Lena Dunham Head To ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

It hasn’t even aired an episode, and “Late Night With Seth Meyers” is already making its presence felt.

We already knew that Amy Poehler, Meyers’ former “Weekend Update” co-host, would welcome him to the late night desk on his first show. But Meyers is showing that he wants to go straight for the pop culture jugular by booking Kanye West and “Girls” creator and star Lena Dunham as guests for his show’s premiere week.

What will Kanye say? Judging from his previous late-night appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel” following a brief Twitter feud, chances are it will be talked about for days after. We can only hope he and Meyers get into it on Twitter, something that would really spice up that interview.

Dunham is also no stranger to controversy. Jezebel offered $10,000 for untouched photographs from Dunham’s “Vogue” shoot. The young artist responded not only in real life but on “Girls,” where Hannah is revealed to be a Jezebel commenter and gives a favorable description of the site that Dunham clearly means to be sarcastic at best.

Also sure to make some waves is Vice President Joe Biden, who also will be appearing during Meyers’ first week. Biden is famous for his interview gaffes, and the Internet has had a field day making the VP into a viral sensation with various memes and fake Twitter accounts.

The message Meyers is sending with these guests? Go viral. Further proof: Meyers has also scored Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, who have become viral celebrities with their epic bromance that has delighted the Internet.

We’ll see soon if the guests pay off, as “Late Night With Seth Meyers” debuts February 24, with Poehler as his guest.
