Little Mix Bringing ‘Hunky Men’ And Sass To Demi Lovato’s Tour

Little Mix took the U.S. by when their debut album burst onto the charts back in 2012.

And now, with their sophomore album, Salute, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson are picking up right where they left off. After dropping on Tuesday (February 4), the album instantly shot to #1 on the iTunes albums chart.

“We were just like ‘Waa,’ ” Leigh-Anne told MTV News on Friday (February 7) of their reaction to landing at #1. “The support we have from our fans is just amazing, and we are so, so lucky. And they never fail to pleasantly surprise us in how incredible they are, and we love them so much.”

The album has a soulful pop sound that showcases the girls’ perfectly blended vocals as they sing about love, heartbreak and female empowerment, which is on full display during the album’s title track.

“I think we all absolutely love ‘Salute,’ ” Leigh-Anne said. “We all wanted to write a song — a real proper, empowering girl-power song for such a long time, and for this album we got it. We just love performing it and it kind of, it just sums us up.”

The girls will have plenty of chances to perform the song since, in addition to Fifth Harmony and Cher Lloyd, they will be hitting the road as one of the opening acts for Demi Lovato‘s Neon Lights Tour, which kicks off Sunday in Vancouver.

“We’ve been looking forward to it since we first found out that we were doing it, which was last year,” Jade said. “We just can’t wait to see all the American fans, hopefully gain some more fans, chill out with Demi and Fifth Harmony, just have a really good time.”

So for those of you heading out to the Neon Lights show, what can you expect from Little Mix once they hit the stage?

“Lots of dancing. We like to go full on with our dancing, lots of harmonies,” Jesy said, before Perrie added, “Lots of sass a bit tongue-in-cheek, a bit of everything, a little mix of everything.” (Including, apparently, some “hunky men.”)

“When you see us, you see four hot men,” Leigh-Anne said. “They like to call themselves our Mix Men.”
