Miley Cyrus Gets Bold, Brash In ‘The Movement’ Trailer: Watch It Now!

“I was born to become who I am right now. … I’m at a point in my career where I can be exactly what I want to be, who I want to be.”

That’s what Miley Cyrus says in the new trailer for her upcoming MTV documentary and based on everything we just saw, she’s prepared to back up those words. Opening with her backstage at the Video Music Awards — moments before taking the stage for her much-discussed performance — “The Movement” follows Miley into the recording studio, out onto the road, and just about everywhere in-between. We see Miley’s quest to redefine her career (and her image) on her terms, from her defining VMA moment and continuing on through the completion of her Bangerz album.

And, as you’d probably expect, she’s not about to let the naysayers stand in the way.

“I have this freedom to do whatever I want, because I’m starting as a new artist now,” she says. “Every time I do anything, I want to remember: This is what separates me from everybody else.”

But it’s not all brash attitude. There are tender moments in the “Movement” trailer too. Like when Cyrus cuddles up with her mother, Tish, or jokes with producer Mike Will Made It. And then there’s the scene where she chats in the studio with Britney Spears (who appears on the Bangerz track “SMS”), and jokingly lays out her plan for the VMAs.

“I just want to go out and shoot a hot dog gun,” she laughs.

In a particularly memorable moment, she addresses the backlash following that VMA performance. And much like we saw in an early “Movement” teaser, Miley makes it clear that she’s not afraid to push the boundaries … or create a little bit of controversy.

“You’re always going to make people talk,” she says. “You might as well make them talk for two weeks, rather than two seconds.”

And if this trailer is any indication, people are going to be talking about “The Movement” for a lot longer than that. Trust us: You don’t want to miss this one.
