‘Need For Speed’ Super Bowl Trailer Is Pretty Darn Speedy

“Faster?” We’re not sure the “Need For Speed” teaser that debuted during Super Bowl XLVIII could have been.

Starring Aaron Paul, Scott Mescudi (more widely known as Kid Cudi), Imogen Poots and Dominic Cooper, the movie is a high-speed adaptation of the popular Need for Speed video game. The 30 second Super Bowl spot for the movie, due out March 14, gave fans a look at what’s to come: cars, cars and more cars.

Shortly after the teaser aired on Fox Sports during the first quarter of the Super Bowl, Dreamworks shared an extended look at the movie.

“Think you’re a better driver than me?” Paul asks in the extended cut. Um, no. Not judging by the driving in these spots, which highlights captivating stunt driving, including a four-wheeled leap over what appears to be the Grand Canyon. In other words: not your usual commute. Don’t try this one at home, folks.

In an interview with MTV News, Mescudi promised that the movie would be captivating.

“As soon as you’re in the theater, you’re on a ride,” he said. “It makes going to the movies fun again.”

“Need For Speed” hits theaters March 14.
