Fans might have been pleasantly surprised when the news broke that Nick Jonas would be taking on the job as creative and music director of Demi Lovato‘s Neon Lights Tour.
For the past several months, Nick and Demi have been working hard on her but now that the tour is officially underway, it’s time for Nick, who parted ways with his brothers back in October, to concentrate on his next venture: himself.
“I’m still figuring out all the pieces. I’m working on just trying to be creative right now,” Jonas recently told MTV News. “I’ve actually got a handful of songs that I’m really excited about.”
It turns out fans might get to hear this music sooner rather than later, with Nick teasing that they will be “releasing some news pretty soon.”
“It’s very exciting,” Nick said. “And I’m ready to sort of show people who I am as a musician and play that out.”
Nick, who is also starring in the upcoming thriller “Careful What You Wish For,” is no stranger to working on his own. Back in 2010, Nick formed his band, Nick Jonas & the Administration, and released their album, Who I Am, an acoustic-folk-pop record that peaked at #3 on the Billboard charts.
Even though the Jonas Brothers might have broken up, citing a deep rift in the band, that hasn’t stopped them from seeing each other. Nick, along with his brother Joe, both posted photos of themselves meeting big brother Kevin’s new baby girl, Alena Rose, who was born earlier this month.
